Any Street Fighter V players on GH??
« on: Tue, 08 August 2017, 17:42:27 »
I sold all my keyboards and bought fightsticks and haven't looked back. Curious if any of you are in the FGC. I press buttons and die, pretty fun stuff. :)

Damn it. I REALLY regret selling my VLX.
Want to get another and a B15 SDM. But need something cheaper to quench my thirst until then. Any recommendations? Seems like that Etokki stick gets good reviews.

Gotta get the hitbox..  best controller on the market..

it's much more deliberate than the stick..

A pro can pull off moves on either, and be just as efficient with stick,   However, overall, the stick introduces elements that you can not predict no matter how pro you are.

Don't be weird.
Arcade sticks are versatile. You can customize them to your heart's content and use them for other games besides fighters.

The customization is fundamentally worthless.  It's like customizing keyboard switches,  it's a vanity situation, there's nothing functionally different.

The reason is,  that directional input is spst switch..  there's no analogue element, so you're not really customizing anything..  What's important is the input accuracy,  and low probability of errors.

Good clean  input is very predictable on the hitbox,  while it is much less consistent on stick.

Directional buffers are much much more easily landed using the hitbox.. that plays a significant role in frame critical moves..

Those VLX's are nice, I just don't know why they put the stick so close to the buttons. Now that Madcatz is out of business (TE2+), the Razer Panthera is pretty much the go-to stick...and Qanba. I have the Panthera on the PS4 and like it, very comfortable, well built.

Hitbox's look fun too but if I'm going to invest time playing, I'd rather do it with a joystick.

The Etokki sticks are more for the Korean players (Racist)...Tekken

I tried a Panzer stick, way too heavy for lap-playing.

I've seen "Korean" edition; what does that mean? And why else is the Etokki more for Koreans? Legit curious.

Otherwise, yeah, I wanted a Qanba as a "cheaper" stick.

Dunno why Hori makes the sticks so close; it was one of my few gripes about the VLX, and wasted so much space considering how large it was.
It was easy to swap out buttons, though. Put some of the longer Sanwa ones in.

I play poorly on Steam on weekends

Korean fight sticks use Fanta sticks that have a more fluid deadzone feel like a Tekken arcade cab which makes them better for 3D fighters and use slightly smaller different-feeling buttons.

Anyone here playing Arcade Edition? Lots of good changes and balancing made, that is about to be completely overshadowed by FighterZ
