Eggs always make my steel pans stink like nasty egg even after washing them with super hot water and soap 3 times over and over. Why are eggs they only food that makes my metal pans stink forever?

Are you using a non-stick?

Nah I hate ns pans because the coating always comes off and that **** causes cancer in lab rats so I figure I'm probably better off not eating that in my meals. Just steel pans with plenty of butter. Should probably get an enameled cast-iron pan for eggs specifically though.

I ****ing love enamel cast iron pots and pans, cooks like a boss and cleans so easy.

just broke down and ordered one, it'll pay for itself!

**** yeaaaaa!

I thought it said $19.99 but it actually said $199.99 :))

Fill the pan with water and let it soak for a while. Makes everything easier.
"The Trump campaign announced in a letter that Republican candidates and committees are now expected to pay “a minimum of 5% of all fundraising solicitations to Trump National Committee JFC” for using his “name, image, and likeness in fundraising solicitations.”

Your comment made me recall a song I liked...

I see the days grow shorter
I feel the nights grow cold (Harvest moon)
Young people feelin’ restless
Old people feelin’ old (Harvest moon)
I sense the darkness clearer
I feel a presence here (Harvest moon)
A change in the weather
I love this time of year (Harvest moon)

Seasons are awesome. I miss them a little.
(...)Whereas back then I wrote about the tyranny of the majority, today I'd combine that with the tyranny of the minorities. These days, you have to be careful of both. They both want to control you. The first group, by making you do the same thing over and over again. The second group is indicated by the letters I get from the Vassar girls who want me to put more women's lib in The Martian Chronicles, or from blacks who want more black people in Dandelion Wine.
I say to both bunches, Whether you're a majority or minority, bug off! To hell with anybody who wants to tell me what to write. Their society breaks down into subsections of minorities who then, in effect, burn books by banning them. All this political correctness that's rampant on campuses is b.s.

Global warming has destabilized the circumpolar vortex, of course.

When I lived in Russia, I wanted global warming very, very much.

Now I still want it, but just a little.

Solution: Don't cook lab rats in non-stick pans.
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

The muscle memory is definitely still there, it's just your body's ability to perform at the minimum level necessary to make it all work.

One of my old bosses was still hitting small(4-6) stairs and handrails into his mid 40's. So funny seeing him come in limping and hearing an explanation that would seem more fitting coming from someone in their late teens early twenties.

I won't consider myself old until I can no longer physically complete a kickflip, no matter how sketchy. When that time comes, then I'll start accept that I might be getting too old for it. Until then, I'm still in it.

Knew a guy in Colorado whose grandpa was a legit skater. I think he was an actual pro or semi pro in the early 90s, but he would take his grand kids down to the park to play and be grinding doing board stands and kickflipping the entire time. Kids would gather to watch him, and this was a man well into his 50s at that time.

My SSD died. Now I have to wait for someplace local to open so I can get an upgrade. I have to do a fresh windows install. Only good thing is I keep everything non-OS essential on a separate drive/partition. Building a new environment from scratch sucks.

This answers my performance issues question I suppose.

I was planning on gaming today, not rebuilding my OS!

damn!

I was going to do this anyway after discussing this disks performance issues in the SSD thread. I just would have liked to back some things up first.

It's odd that an SSD goes bad,  best run some tests on the power supply and cables..

One of the reasons I do daily snapshots of my main system. From what I've read there's very little warning before an SSD bites the dust as they say.

We'll probably see some improvements due to cloud storage provides, etc. switching over to NVMe storage servers but it'll be a little while before that trickles down to mass market consumers.

Though WD's current 5 year warranty for an entry level SSD is not a bad start :)

I was going to do this anyway after discussing this disks performance issues in the SSD thread. I just would have liked to back some things up first.

It's odd that an SSD goes bad,  best run some tests on the power supply and cables..

Found this under proper lighting conditions. I don't remember where this came from but it said sata6 so I used it. That'll teach me.

Confirmed bad cable. Strange that the disk would load far enough for windows to detect and attempt to repair an error.

After formatting and a new cable, it has been fine. I already moved to an 860 evo at 500gb so this will go in the backup stash.

Still mad I lost a bunch of stuff. Thankfully nothing really important but some house cleaning can be a good thing.

Bright side, things are running noticeably smoother now.

What are you, nuts?! That's on a separate drive.

I know better than to put something that important on the same partition/drive as a win install.

My system is 5 drives at 12tb total, and a nas with 16tb. Plus I have another stack of 2, 3, and 4 tb drives on backup totaling another 20 something TB.

Need to be covered for drive failure as well as extended network outage.

It's more quality HD stuff. None of that 4hrs shot in a shady looking motel from a vhs, in a worn and faded box that's kind of oily and sticky  feeling with the edges of the opening frayed and curling, on the back shelf covered in dust for $1.99 garbage.

Freecopy @ Maximum Xxperience

Hrrrm... HD quality, average 10Mbit/s rips, that's 1.25Megabyte/s

40TB would make for 40,000,000 Megabyte / 1.25 /3600

= 8888.89 Hours..

Amazing.!! Wonder if pr0n hub offer doctorates,  but if you watch all that , you've got one.

Reminds me of a co-worker who had a failing SSD. Legit had messages in the event log and had popup warnings about bad sectors. I tell them to give up their system so we could have a replacement installed. Nope, would not have any part of it. Well I said to backup up everything to a network drive. A week later this thing is toast, completely dead. Guess how many files were backed up?

be five degrees one day and then fifty the next

I love when its one or the other. It was 0 degrees last week here and 60 degrees one day this week and everyone at work loves it. I'm like you realize it will be 20 tomorrow and there's not much to do but go for a walk when it's 60 lol
