Are they NPCs ?

It doesn't make any sense why anyone would want to spend any amount of time in a Starbucks. Why be there?

If you go once a day, $12-20, that's a 65" TV worth a year.

It's noisy, full of strangers who have nothing to do with anything in your life. There are people who spend all day in one of these. They're outdoors technically, but they stare into their phones/laptops. If you observe their eyes carefully, they actively avoid eye contact with every single person there.

Tp4 is probably also an NPC. Though he's got indoor-configs rather than outdoor.xml

Some people value solitude and privacy, but others need to feel the vibe of the herd around them.

"Politicians have been proving Carlin right for decades. The GOP and the second Trump Administration seem bent on doing what they’ve always done, sometimes even turning the American Dream into the American Nightmare. Taxes are a major contributor, especially the billions upon billions that the rich and corporations don’t pay. Trump and his fellow Republicans are committed to keeping it that way — and, if their slim Congressional majorities can stick together, to do even more for those who need it the least. As one small example, the overall corporate tax rate could drop to 20%; domestic manufacturers could do even better, ending up with an effective corporate rate of 15%. The federal tax code is famous (and infamous) for its huge handouts to those with the highest incomes, the most egregious being the cap on Social Security taxes."

There are quite a few geekhackers that have their own espresso machines. Practicing their latte art on a daily basis. No need to go anywhere, just stay home and make it the way you like it.

The vibe and feel of the herd which they actively try to ignore by locking eye with their device?

Some people have this weird uncontrollable urge to 'get out of the house'
Even when they have nowhere to go and no errands to run, they are the people who are like 'Let's DO something today!'

idk what is wrong with them. Probably morning people too *shudders*

exactly

A flock of birds swooping around the sky generally does not have a leader.

I knew a self employed person who rented a single office in an office building. They used it to get into the "work" mindset. When working in their home they often found it hard to get into a "work" mindset. Getting dressed and going to an office allowed them to get into a "work" headspace.

If you buy 1-2 cups a day, call it $10-15 a day. 20 work days a month means 200-300 spent at Starbucks is a lot cheaper than any commercial rental office lease and you get 20-40 cups of "premium" coffee and a place to work.
