Researching some 8K TVs, none of them have displayport. What's even the point of 8K without enough bandwidth to drive it. HDMI 2.1, 48Gbit, is only enough for 8K60hz at 8bit, but probably not since it's slightly above 48.  8K 120 needs 68gbit just to do 4:2:2, 4:4:4 requires 102.2gbit, that's more than displayport 2.1

So, basically we're stuck with yuckie DSC.

A hot slut dignified woman at the grocery store today was wearing just a transparent shirt and no bottoms, and I saw her hoohaa and boobs. I heard a guy comment to his gf/wife 'Why don't you dress like that?'
Highlight of my week, which is sad.

Taste is subjective, if you like them eats. Then there it is.

Read about living @ mcmurdo station. It sounds kinda cool. Ultimate cold camping.

Unfortunately Mcmurdo is outside, where Tp4 is incompatible.

Walked into a Micro Center brick & mortar store for the first time in several years.

If I was still buying computer gear regularly, I would REALLY miss that place!

The base parts are good price. Accessories are a bit overpriced.  They sell a single tower cooler for $20-30, you can get dual-tower coolers online for $30.

I finished my son's desk for his gaming PC. Put the last layer of poly on last night. It needs to sit for 3 days, but on Sunday we will get to install it in their room and spend some time cabling managing (my favorite part). Then I get to finish the desk I want for my office. Kids come first...

Not a good day...
Someone scratched my car, parked on a side of the street. There was a woman driving small car that got too close to my parked car in front of the shop and scratched it badly.
Now I was away shopping, came back 3 minutes after the incident. I managed to find a shop with CCTV, watched the footage - that woman hit and scratched my car, drove away 10 meters, got off the car, walked around her own and fixed the side mirror she hit it with and got back in her car and ran away... I've sent the footage to insurance company, problem is footage doesnt show properly the reg plates, low resolution... :(
It can be guessed, some characters are visible.. kinda ... (its that red Vauxhall Adam).

It's as surprising as them not being able to find a plane crash in the ocean. Like, wth was all that nasa money for.

It’s by design. We have the ability to put 4k@60hz security camera in, but choose not to. Why? I assume it’s for insurance reasons. Insurance will pay out more than whatever was taken. Banks never seem to know how much a robber takes, but we are to believe the bank has cash on hand that isn’t 100% accounted for? I think they purposefully put in bad cameras to meet insurance minimums not for actual protection.

Any landmines at all?
(...)Whereas back then I wrote about the tyranny of the majority, today I'd combine that with the tyranny of the minorities. These days, you have to be careful of both. They both want to control you. The first group, by making you do the same thing over and over again. The second group is indicated by the letters I get from the Vassar girls who want me to put more women's lib in The Martian Chronicles, or from blacks who want more black people in Dandelion Wine.
I say to both bunches, Whether you're a majority or minority, bug off! To hell with anybody who wants to tell me what to write. Their society breaks down into subsections of minorities who then, in effect, burn books by banning them. All this political correctness that's rampant on campuses is b.s.

Do you shop at a Wal-Mart Supercenter, by chance? It's hot as hell down here right now, so maybe she was just airing out her basement. Was her shirt clear plastic like the ones the replicants were wearing in Blade Runner?

It's always Trader Joe's. They have by far the most attractive customer base of any grocery store, and my local one is right next to a gym, so you get beautiful people coming in wearing their workout stuff. Plus an apartment a block away has a bunch of OnlyFans models living in it. High concentration of pretty, fit, and skimpy dressed women around. Summer and Halloween are crazy around the shopping center close to me.

UGhhhhhh..

Capacitors cost $6 each x2 + $8 shipping.  $22 after tax.

Damn you mouser.com, damn you to hell.

The only other caps Tp4 have on hand are 50v 22000uf. Just way too large, prolly stress the rectifier, and hard to get into place.  Soldered them in with wires temporarily, sub works gud', can confirm the old caps are bad.

The $22 is giving Tp4 Chest pains.

They're here, Nichicon LGY. they're made in malaysia, but Tp4 just can't trust no taiwan capacitors, not after the plague.

105c rated. and 6800uf. vs the 85c 4700uf.

Thought about getting 10,000, buhhhh, doesn't seem worth it for an 8" small sub.

Oh yes, back to the roots - it was an alien movie that we needed after first two parts. Anything after that wasn't as good. I was surprised, cause did not expect it to be that good. It was fantastic, phenomenal etc, but it was very good indeed.
I think I'll watch it again at home, when 4K version comes out.

There should be giant blenders in every major town, so if anyone wants to kill themselves they can just go to the local blender and jump in and become mulch.
I think this would solve a lot of problems.

Well a bridge over highway traffic is kinda like a blender.

Not suggesting this is the way to go.

Burn-in here I come.

(Attachment Link)

Oooft! I'm guessing those side bars are static, so yeah...
But to be honest, burn-in may happen after many years of displaying static bits. Those OLED panels nowadays are pretty good with those aids installed.
I have my 48CX for 3-4 years now and still nothing. I do hide windows bar, dont keep it on for long without movement etc but so far I think its around 7K hours and still nothing.

Agreed. Customer attrictiveness way higher than the competition. Lots of yoga pants in the Winter Park locale. And the Fresh Market down the street isn't bad either.

"Industrial slaughter has already turned administered killing into a purely technical act. But the absurdity of its profitability calculations comes to the fore when animals are slaughtered for nothing: so that we don't eat animals that may or may not be affected by a disease such as epizooty, untreated but slaughtered for the "lowest cost", and even if the disease is not transmissible to humans, such as foot-and-mouth disease. This productivist, technical and mercantile civilization, (...) oblivious to the amphibology of the word 'culture', oblivious to the living being that is the animal, could only make possible, if not necessary, these bloody exhibitions." – Elisabeth de Fontenay, Sans offenser le genre humain. Réflexions sur la cause animale.

Yesterday I got my newest Alps purchase in the mail. I have a lot to document and share here, but long story short head over to eBay and search "Kansasfest". You are looking for "Kansasfest July 2022: Apple II "Alps Grand Variety Keyboard" $55.55 + S/H"

The seller is a truly passionate person. I was looking for decently priced Alps keyboards to bolster the collection when I found this. I was drawn in with the full description of the listing. Which lead me to his Youtube video.

A lot of fun listening to the user. Even shouts out Chyrosran22 as the leading voice in Alps keyboards. The keynote is really about the Alps blue, but covers clones, non-SKCM/SKCL switches, etc. If you have any interest in Alps I encourage you to check out the video. Not only did I receive the keyboard in the listing, but a stack of documents to go along with the keyboard, among other fun things. I hope the other remaining keyboard/keyswitch tester goes to another enthusiast.

To summarize: well worth the price, very interesting seller, and SKCM brown my be my favorite switch. The hunt is on.
Always looking for Alps SKCM/SKCL switches. Feel free to DM.

Had an operation for my butthurt.

I'm also afflicted with a case of butthurt. Going on 12 years now. It's by far the worst thing in my life, and the worst chronic experience I've ever endured.  :(

Well, I was issued a Windows 10 based laptop at work for new safety the problem is I hate typing on touch screens larger than my phone. The keyboard they have me is a cheap chiclet style low profile rubber don't that feels like garbage. So, I built a small work station on the inside of the door for my tools box. Using a JD40 and a GH36. The GH36 has mouse controls so no mouse needed.
