NEED Keyboard Help? I have 24 yrs experience with Keyboards
« on: Tue, 15 July 2014, 15:35:37 »
NEED Keyboard Help?  I have 24 yrs experience with Keyboards: IBM, Digital, Wyse, HP, Decision Data, and more.  I have experience buying, selling, repairing and re-engineering every Keyboard ever made in the past 40 years.  I've seen it all, and I have a warehouse of hundreds of rare keyboards.  Got questions?  I will try to help you.

Standard question.  Favorite switch?

How and why did you get started?

Dream board (real or inventive)?

I think you are going to live to regret this offer ; )

OK, let's start with either American or British-made switch:

What can you tell us about this one?

http://deskthority.net/wiki/USw_LXBB03

What can you tell us about these keyboards? The switches may be RAFI, but RAFI won't respond:

http://deskthority.net/wiki/USw_UQPW01

If you can beat these two, we'll have to set you on vintage Cherry (M7 and earlier), and then on Alps.

Judging from the IP, no.

But proxies!

True, but also guessing from the fact that the words geekwhack and something sarcastic are in none of his posts so far make me somewhat optimistic.

Their website inventory is very much out of date. Last time I checked with them they didn't have much in the way of any Cherry boards, but they did have lot of wyse terminals.

Hi Battou:
Thanks for the kind words!  We definately do some nice terminals and keyboards.  Come on down any time.  Let me know which keyboards you want to see, and I will try to have them pulled out before you arrive.

Warehouse of keyboards you say...?
I live in Canada and can't possibly come down over to the warehouse, if you had a keyboard that I wanted, would you be able to ship it here?
Or do you not like to do that kind of stuff?

I have experience buying, selling, repairing and re-engineering every Keyboard ever made in the past 40 years.
What does “re-engineering” mean in this context? Any particularly noteworthy projects?
