Does anybody know of a fountain pen that just writes? Without scratching, skipping, late starting or being too dry?
All of my Japanese pens, German Pelikans, TWSBI's write when they are uncapped. I keep Noodlers Polar or Eel Ink in them, which maybe it is because it is a lubricating ink never seem hard to start?
The Pilots, Platinums, Sailors, Pelikans with gold nibs are all pretty smooth out the box. The TWSBI's depending on which nib you get sometimes need a pass or 2 over some 12,000 paper as well as the steel Pelikan nibs, but they never hesitate, skip or are hard to start?
Inexpensive steel nib Lamy's and Pilot's are a safe bet............
Sometimes Noodler Pens can be a little testy, but since they have ebonite feeds if you seat or set them to the nib it usually will go away
