What is one good deed you did this past month?
« on: Thu, 24 March 2016, 20:47:16 »
Prior to my last depressing and mischievous thread, I promised Rowdy my next thread would be more cheery and happy. My hopes is that this thread inspires other to go out and do a good deed (even something as small as complimenting someone else!)

So what is one good dead you did in this past month?

I sent an affirmation e-mail to someone in a customer service position today thanking them for their helpfulness and kindness. The person was really happy to get the e-mail and it happened to be on her birthday.

Edit: Here was her response

Quote
You are very welcome! I am so very happy you are pleased with my customer support service. You made my birthday by giving me positive feedback.

I hope my kindness will reach out to others. Thank you once again for the compliment. Have a yourself a great day and Happy Easter!

I called Scottish Power's customer service to ask where the **** is my final bill. In the beginning of the talk, I memorised the callee's name and thanked him personally in the end. That's the most I can do for a person from Glasgow.
(...)Whereas back then I wrote about the tyranny of the majority, today I'd combine that with the tyranny of the minorities. These days, you have to be careful of both. They both want to control you. The first group, by making you do the same thing over and over again. The second group is indicated by the letters I get from the Vassar girls who want me to put more women's lib in The Martian Chronicles, or from blacks who want more black people in Dandelion Wine.
I say to both bunches, Whether you're a majority or minority, bug off! To hell with anybody who wants to tell me what to write. Their society breaks down into subsections of minorities who then, in effect, burn books by banning them. All this political correctness that's rampant on campuses is b.s.

At work so I can't snag a photo. But the big giant rubber storage bins. Turn them upside down and cut a hole. Put a few soft towels in there to keep them comfy and out of the rain

adopted another cat 7 days ago. had to take her to emergency room last night....

Heartworms... Doctor said she wouldn't make it and I should put her down.

She rebounded and started puring when I came in to see her. I couldn't put her down. Took her home.

She is getting Tuna and belly rubs until it hits again =/

I am typically good with my emotions and cant remember when I last cried, but this damn cat...

Ahh, I know what you mean. When I read "Tupperware" I only thought of the little lunch container ones. Thought you had taped together a bunch of them or something.

I wish the best for you and your cat. They're excellent pets.  :(

Er, I seem to have convinced someone to create a positive thread?
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

Didn't shout at any of the stupid idiots I have to deal with on the phone.
Can we get them to build the Alps ten feet higher and get Cherry to pay for it?
