Been trying this ketosis thing out the last week or so, SO many things have carbs and keeping intake under 20g a day is extremely difficult. The only saving grace of this fad diet is full fat meats and cheese.

Grats on your 11K TP^^

I try to have black coffee, a banana and a couple handfuls of almonds for breakfast usually but today I put half a Yoohoo in my coffee and am having it with cinnamon roll.

My roomate's girlfriend has been packing our lunches this week :)) I never got these junk food lunches when I was younger, you know, with like, white bread, pringles, snack pack, gushers etc

For me, it was always whole or multi grain wheat bread with almond butter and honey or jelly, unsalted pretzels, a slice of cheese and a nature valley granola bar if I was lucky.

When we get to around the 30-45 mark.. It's really the time to turn around on common-western foods..

The statistics take a terrible turn around that time,  where significant heart clogging/ cancer growth occurs due to high animal-foods consumption.

I was raised mostly vegetarian, eating some fish and chicken here and there but never red meats and very rarely junk foods. My dad learned some healthy recipes when we were stationed in Puerto Rico that we still use to this day. Pasta with broccoli, sauteed onion, garlic and seared tofu mixed in, and a really good lentil "soup" with potatoes, carrots and celery among others.

Grilled chicken has been a pretty major part of my diet the past few years though.. What do you like to have as a main course instead of something meaty like that?

I'll often juice two large whole carrots, a cucumber and a tomato to accompany my dinner. I always feel very good and energized after drinking that

I could give you a big lecture on why eat ONLY Veggies.

But, it's probably the incorrect approach, because you probably would not believe me against all the __ Pleb Wisdom __ that the industry has Backed through modern Media.

We are omnivores for a reason. It feels like a lot of that vegan rhetoric is partisan opinions supported by studies that echo their ideals. Our bodies were specifically built to be able to consume, digest, and use animal fats and lean protein as fuel.
It's not an opinion, it's biology.

I think the best rout is simply eliminating processed, artificial, and altered foods.

Paleo and Keto I feel are the closest to what humans were built to handle.

There are different vegan perspectives out there.

It's important you look beyond the Headline Rhetoric, and analyze the Science and the Context.

Evolutionary time-span works on millions of years,   Humans only started to live beyond age 50 (En Mass) within the past 5000 years.  Living to old age is very NEW, and not part of our most recent biological evolutionary optimizations.

Humans are omnivores..

Part of this is correct: Humans have the ability to utilize animal proteins and fats to some degree, it's however NOT the Preferred Fuel of the body.

The editor of the American Journal of Cardiology, William C. Roberts setup several experiments proving this.

If we fed  TRUE - Carnivores and TRUE - Omnivores [Cats and Dog] 100 grams of cholesterol and 120 grams of fats ONTOP of their normal diet, They will STILL NEVER EVER develop arteriosclerosis/ Heart disease.

Meanwhile, if you did the same to Rabbits and Monkeys (our closest cousin) , Boom Heart disease..

The contextual difference for what WILD Humans eat, and what we now are ABLE TO EAT given advanced technology.

Wild human beings only live to about 50,  That is as far as our Physical evolution took us.

Through Society, and cognitive evolution, we've then crossed that mark with the Use of Fire, Modern Sanitation, Modern Medicine

So, Yes, if you want to say, Wild Humans CAN BE Omnivorous,  fine, but the cut off is age 50.

What happens after age 50, is a new way of life, NOT yet optimized for by Biology.

We know the human body Prefers Carbohydrates above all other fuel.

Now you're going to say, OH TP,  what bout Diabetus..

The following video thoroughly explains why people get diabetus.  watch it and perhaps you will never get diabetus..

Well... the corn is fine..

But, the microwave pack version comes with 20grams of fat (usually).

if you eat the pack, + whatever normal western foods composition you eat through the day..

You'd be pushing 50-100g .. which guarantees arteriosclerosis

Well that depends; if I use non-gmo kernels I'm going to spray on some olive oil after the pop to eleviate some of the cutting of my gums due to razor sharp kernel shells. That non-GMO popcorn is dangerous to my health. I brush my gums and floss daily; non-gmo popcorn is just savage.

It does..

But consuming animal products also accounts for 90% of known chemical carcinogens coming in contact with the body.

The reason this is the case is because we USE these pesticides and antibiotics and fertilizers to GROW PLANTS.

Then we feed 70% of the entire 'Murican production of grains to Cows/Chickens/Pigs.

They eat alot more than humans do, and when we funnel up in this way,  it Concentrates those toxins in OUR FOOD,  --which-- then finally enters humans..

This is one of the reasons why Cancer statistics scale very well with meat consumption.

It's also the most dangerous issue, because while you can turn around on heart disease assuming you SURVIVE your initial heart attack (75% odds), and stop eating meat..

Cancer doesn't always cooperate, because by the time they catch it, it's Over a billion cells, which is in most cases, too late..   Veggies will still help , but at the rate in which people are consuming,  it's still slim.

Hrrrrrmmm..

I remember the patties on the dollar menu USED TO BE the same diameter/thickness as the main menu burgers.

So if you'd boughtz 1x burger and 1x cheese burger from the dollar menu,  then you'd essentially have a double whopper.

Buhhhhhh,, they've downsized the dollar patties at most chains now..  And the patties all use filler meats.. only 15% muscles, 85% trimmings/fillers,  sigh.......

Which is why Popeyes fried chicken is still the best deal, because you get ALL Muscle CHICKEN..

Only 1 week into keto and I've already lost 7lbs. Zero exercise, still lost weight.

Nice job. Are you tracking overall calories or just carbs? I accidentally tried keto for a few days earlier in the year but got a headache (I was trying to eat high protein while staying on a caloric deficit, and carbs were just what happened to get cut).

Expect that to slow down to about 2 lbs per week. The first week or two release a lot of water (just telling you so that you don't get discourage when it's not as dramatic next week).
Maybe they're waiting for gasmasks and latex to get sexy again.

The world has become a weird place.

Not tracking calories at all. Just not eating anything with more than 4g carbs, like NOTHING over that. And no sugar or starch foods. Been having like 3 eggs and a ribeye, an entire rotisserie chicken, a brick of baked brie with blueberry and walnuts. This keto thing is amazing, you can totally pig out on things that taste good, not exercise, and still lose weight. I am as stunned as anyone else. Already down another 2lbs from yesterday morning too :))

The goal is around 220, and then push that to like 200/190 if possible.
