So I camped SNS all morning to get those Ultra Boosts, not working, refreshing like it was a clack sale. On the ****ing dot at 9am the site goes down and all I get are errors, refreshing the page every few seconds for the next 48 minutes. By the time I could actually get the website up and displayed the page with the shoes was removed, apparently having completely sold out.

How though? I had two friends trying for me as well and they experienced the same exact thing, site errors then totally sold out. How did they sell out if the site was not accessible? I do not at all understand, and this is not the first time I have seen this happen on a shoe site. Site crashes for 40 minutes on a big release and then the item is mysteriously sold out. How the ****? How do people buy things from inaccessible websites??? I DON"T ****ING GET IT!

Shoe buying is serious business. Maybe people went round it using a proxy or some ****? Seems a bit bogus to me.

That ****ing sucks man. I can only imagine the site only let in X amount of traffic and gave errors to the rest. Bots probably rocked the sale if there are chances of high profit to be made on limited stuff.

I'm bothering me right now.

I like trading caps and I go out of my way to make it abundantly clear that I don't want cash offers. Of course, that keeps out a lot of them ... but not all of them. Meanwhile there are dudes that are willing to drop >$1K on caps. I turn them down, but man is it hard sometimes. I'm fresh out of school and broke AF. Feels super bad to be tempted like that.

this entire work week is like mid 20s celcius. perfect weather, and i'm in an air conditioned office all day

this friday, saturday, and sunday will all be almost 40C.... i can barely handle that weather at home without aircon

why couldn't these be reversed...

I found out that my lab partner in Chem withdrew from the course, leaving me as what feels like the only one older than 18. He was struggling with the class material but had much more common sense and maturity than all these high school students in the duel-enrollment program. So once again, I find myself in a loner.
I've come to view humanity as predominantly monkey business.

Last week I did half of the lab report and one guy did the other half and two people didn't do anything.

This week the three ****ters in my group didn't do anything, so I guess I'm leaving their names off of it.

Also, this is the third paper due for this class this week. FeelsGoodMan  ;)

intercontinental flights
(...)Whereas back then I wrote about the tyranny of the majority, today I'd combine that with the tyranny of the minorities. These days, you have to be careful of both. They both want to control you. The first group, by making you do the same thing over and over again. The second group is indicated by the letters I get from the Vassar girls who want me to put more women's lib in The Martian Chronicles, or from blacks who want more black people in Dandelion Wine.
I say to both bunches, Whether you're a majority or minority, bug off! To hell with anybody who wants to tell me what to write. Their society breaks down into subsections of minorities who then, in effect, burn books by banning them. All this political correctness that's rampant on campuses is b.s.

static electricity shock shorting my aluminum keyboards coming back from bathroom or snack break...

most annoying on GON and lightsaver.

Is your computer properly grounded? (like 3-prong cords throughout, to 3-hole properly grounded wall socket? Some sockets have 3 holes but are not properly gounded for the middle one (for outer casing)).  I've never felt static shock with any of my keyboards, including a Lightsaver, and my desk is on carpeting + it gets very dry in winter with space heaters.  Makes me wonder if something's off with the grounding for your computer/desk area.

I don't know where they go to be honest. We have like rows of desks and all our computers just plug into an outlet that's behind our monitors (it's like this little wall thing to separate rows and provides power). the receptacles have 3rd prong but idk where they lead to

Hmm sorry :(  Maybe if you're feeling bored and can chat with your tech support people some day about it, it might help.  If you're getting shocked frequently, something's not right with grounding.

This is the most annoying thing to ever see someone ask god damn

A quick story about the stupidest experience I ever had like this: couple years ago I was selling a mac mini on craigslist. Dude agrees to meet me and pay full price (150). He meets me and  offers 80. I'm like what the hell dude? We agreed 150. He was like what's the lowest you'll take, so I say 150 again, and he just works from 100 up and gives me some crap about how he needs to pay for gas on the way home. The dude was like 60 and in a nice ass car! So he's at like 120 and I tell him I'm about to go back home unless he gives me 150 so he starts pouting and sighing and gives me 150. I give him the computer and walk home using all my self restraint to not start yelling at this dude in the middle of the street!

Price negotiation is usually ugly and mean-spirited. Some people think of it as a predatory game and truly enjoy playing it.

Personally, I wish that it didn't exist, but it is really the only mechanism by which dishonest people can do business with each other.
"The Trump campaign announced in a letter that Republican candidates and committees are now expected to pay “a minimum of 5% of all fundraising solicitations to Trump National Committee JFC” for using his “name, image, and likeness in fundraising solicitations.”
“Any split that is higher than 5%,” the letter states, “will be seen favorably by the RNC and President Trump's campaign and is routinely reported to the highest levels of leadership within both organizations.”"

Haggling doesn't have to be mean-spirited. Just don't agree to pay a price and then haggle after.

If both parties involved know that haggling is going to happen I don't really care, but in the above case I would agree.

I had something similar happen when I listed an old car of mine for $350 that had some serious mechanical issues that I didn't care to fix, but someone with knowledge and time might be able to fix for much less than it would've cost me.  Someone contacted me asking if I would remove the listing for a $300 offer and I agreed, but when I met them the following day they ****ed with the car for about 30 minutes, then said they weren't sure they could get it working and offered me $150.  I told them no and they tried to guilt me into taking the offer as they had driven about an hour to meet, but I still said no because **** that.

I should have thought of that... He hasn't messaged me back after I gave him my lowest price so I don't think I will ever do that again.

A friend of mine has just sold his GTR, but when it was still up for sale he was constantly telling me stories of when this would happen. Just replace the 150 with 60K and the 80 with 50K...
Can we get them to build the Alps ten feet higher and get Cherry to pay for it?
