After almost 40 years I decided to re-watch Close Encounters of the Third Kind.
What a crappy movie, jeez.... I cannot believe that back then people liked it and found amazing.

There are some really great alien abduction movies from around that time. I never got Close Encounters, always thought it was so stupid.
Have you ever seen Fire In The Sky? That's a good one.

videos from an attempted coup in my country lmao
(...)Whereas back then I wrote about the tyranny of the majority, today I'd combine that with the tyranny of the minorities. These days, you have to be careful of both. They both want to control you. The first group, by making you do the same thing over and over again. The second group is indicated by the letters I get from the Vassar girls who want me to put more women's lib in The Martian Chronicles, or from blacks who want more black people in Dandelion Wine.
I say to both bunches, Whether you're a majority or minority, bug off! To hell with anybody who wants to tell me what to write. Their society breaks down into subsections of minorities who then, in effect, burn books by banning them. All this political correctness that's rampant on campuses is b.s.

ok, that tv show had an extremely disappointing ending, so now I'm in search of where to watch the 3rd season of Exit.

It's above average, fun if you like alien movies with Greys. But there is one specific part of the movie that will really stick with you, and is super well done. You'll know it when you get there, no spoilers.

Kights of the zodiac.

Now, if these dudes have such righteous upbringings, why do they start half these movies, with them fighting in some sort of underground bloodsport casino ?

Shouldn't someone with their' pure heart be found in a soup kitchen, or African village installing solar ovens.

Hrrrm.. IDK, movie might not be the right format. It's not horrible as far as Live-Action adaptation goes, but the scales just aren't right. Every operational element is too much and not enough at the same time.

Overall, Knights of the Zodiac, I don't hate it.

Avatar 2009 out in 4K.

It's weird, cuz alot of the scenes have kinda bad CGI, and other scenes have really good ones. This also happens in a few places in the new Way of Water movie.

And every cgi scene has this weird grain simulator algorithm that makes everything fuzzy, or maybe that's part of the upsampling algo they've used.

Dragon Ball Super Hero (2022).

This movie is LiiiiiT......

That was a good one. Some great animation in Super though, and they set it up for another movie in the future.

You should check out the One Piece movie, it was fantastic even if you don't watch the show.

Just finished it,  Seriously this movie kicks ass.

The effects are next level, and so tastefully done.

Dragon Ball's green tint.

For years people have been complaining about this.  It really only amounts to +10 G on the rgb value of the brighter grey/whites.

Which isn't that much. I suspect this is deliberate to reduce the overall brightness of white colors because of how much it's used throughout the show, it's pretty blinding/ glare like on most tv-sets/ bright animes.

There aren't good options otherwise, because if you reduced the blue channel, it'd be a yellow tint, if reduce green, it'd be magenta (pinkpurple) tint, if reduce red, it'd be cyan (blueish) tint.  green tint is better than all other options including blue/red tints.

Fall (2022)

2 girls climb a radio tower,  stairs break, they're stuck.

It's not bad for a B-movie. Watchable.

Anybody who has not yet watched The Menu should do so. It is a slow burn and very dark, but worth it!
"The Trump campaign announced in a letter that Republican candidates and committees are now expected to pay “a minimum of 5% of all fundraising solicitations to Trump National Committee JFC” for using his “name, image, and likeness in fundraising solicitations.”
“Any split that is higher than 5%,” the letter states, “will be seen favorably by the RNC and President Trump's campaign and is routinely reported to the highest levels of leadership within both organizations.”"

Started watching Yuri Camp S2,   Decided to cook curry ramen in the basement because, you know, it's like camping.

COULD'VE used the induction stove, but no, Tp4 went full retard, flipped on the portable propane stove.  Sets off all the carbon monoxide alarms including the smoke detectors.

Dungeons and Dragons: Honour Among Thieves
That was really funny, great effects, interesting, they mentioned all my favourite games in it, I mean places from D&D - Baldur's Gate, Neverwinter, Icewind.

There was other Dungeons and Dragons movie in the past, 2000 or so, it wasn't good as this one, maybe someone watched it?

I think this franchise has alot of promise, They need at least a few non-silly actors to balance out the cast though.

It' can't be 100% nonsense.

Controversial opinion, but I liked more Robert Patrick episodes than David Duchovny ones. There's some great ones though, The Host and Home are both so good.

I want to be careful here. I recall the pace being pretty slow, alot of these don't age well, and cause resentment later on.

With this one I'm ok, I know power of my nostalgia, the force is strong with this one, it will be fine :)
I know that cinematography of 90s might be weird, silly at times, but I love x-files so much that nothing will destroy my feelings.
That, and Northern Exposure  :-*

I never watched this when it was on, but went all the way through during my TV binge in the pandemic.

Overall, it was OK but only about 1 episode out of about 4 was actually "good" in my opinion and only about 1 out of 10 was "excellent".

The "alien" subtext was weak and poorly handled, and it grew in significance but not quality as time went by and it became more and more implausible.

Lastly, the unrequited "romance" was continuously fumbled - over and over again.

"The Trump campaign announced in a letter that Republican candidates and committees are now expected to pay “a minimum of 5% of all fundraising solicitations to Trump National Committee JFC” for using his “name, image, and likeness in fundraising solicitations.”

Spy x Family,  it's a really an anime for children, but extremely well made. One can see why it's highly recommended on anime of the year lists.

Although clearly most audiences would be too old to watch this.

Will say that oddly modern animes have taken up debanding filters too heavily, whereby all textures and lines look too soft. They went from none-at-all to over-the-top debanding.

I watched it after everyone was saying it was the best thing ever. I thought it was alright, kinda boring at points there was one episode where they had to do an interview to get into the school that was really boring which was easily the worst episode of what I watched. I never watched past episode 12, just didn't get why everyone enjoyed it so much. Which is a shame cause that premise is really cool, just it wasn't executed the best.

Just started Isekai Ojisan,  the premise is pretty hilarious.

So you've all seen Iseknimes, it's the same thing but in reverse, the weird uncle goes to the other world, but wakes up from the coma, and now uses his magic powers in the real world.

Give it a go.

Been enjoying the new season of Always Sunny. It feels like a return to form after they jumped the shark last season. You can tell all the main characters are actually friends outside of the show, the chemistry is effortless.

Just got done Transformers, ehh.... I just don't see the role of humans in the movies, it's not only implausible, it's plain non-sense.

Tried to make it all the way through Cocaine Bear..  Nope......

IDK I thought it was fine, my dad as well, though there was nothing of substance, it's exactly what you expect and you only get what's in the title. To be fair it probably wasn't as boring because I tried to make some gyoza during the film and failed really bad lol, I will make a decent gyoza eventually though.

Asteroid City
As one reviewer put it, it's Inception for theater nerds.

Honestly... It's really good and also meh at the same time.
The Alien is fantastic but if you plan to see it do yourself a favor and don't Google it, you need to see it in context for it to really be appreciated.

Sarah Connor Chronicles Blu-Disc

WTH is with this color grading....  These patches of  Just-Black ?   This makes no sense, did they run out of dynamic range?

Been re-watching The Owl House. Was like my comfort show for a while (especially over the pandemic when it came out), but it's basically harry potter/Disney Isekai but gay if that interests you. Better than anything harry potter did too honestly. Why did Disney have to cancel it and force them to make a rushed season 3 (I did enjoy it but it definitely felt rushed) :(

Remember guys, if you ever happen upon a T888 Terminator main processor,  it's pin compatible with the PCI-bus, on any 2008 motherboard.
