Can we get them to build the Alps ten feet higher and get Cherry to pay for it?

Use peripheral vision and hold the mouse click down and just release when you see it. You get insane times that way.

Damn the mouse hold click trick doesn't work.

EDIT: 224 ms avg. Gonna try to get sub 200 later.

I average 196ms

I think everyone can subtract at least 16ms for display lag (if you're on LCD)

Tip 1

Ok, some observations..  I got it down to 160  with some practice..

Essentially,, Don't look for GREEN..  wait for (flash)..  As soon as you feel the screen is "brighter",

Click..

It's a much faster response..

My guess is..  If you're waiting for GREEN you'd still have to process the concept of GREEN, which is more complex than simply an increase in brightness..

Another Tip

Double click..  Do not single click..

If you single click, you need a second click to start the rhythm again..

If you double click,  the timing and process is more streamline and simpler..

From what I have read reaction time is mainly a genetic attribute, I could only increase about 10%-20%. Still not great.

But I'll live.  :))

You guys gotta play seriously. hahahaha

also, you need to put PC into high performance mode to prevent frame drops/delay..

Every frame dropped or delayed is potentially 33ms EACH

I usually get around 230. As a CS:GO player it should be a little faster I think lol :D

One thing to note is that my mouse, FK1, makes me click slower :(

I really like what tp4 said up there. I will try what he said and report back.

edit: 210 now :D

Darn the Huano switches to heck, Omrons really are the best. I get 190 on my G400

Mine seems to be around average.

"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

I have an IPS monitor, so the delays are large, both display delay + connection delay, yet at ~260ms, probably I'm delayed a bit too :)

The test reminded me of the crypt of the necrodancer a lot, at the beginning there is a similar routine to compute the total delay, I ended up screwing the rhythm constantly, rage quited

Yes. I consider smoking anything to be stupid because I sing so I don't do it. XD Don't care what kind of smoke, it ain't going near my lungs and throat.

I have very poor vision and eye-hand coordination and my one good eye is currently recovering from getting something in it that I suspect scratched it. But regardless of current injuries, my reaction times just are not quick. I love video games, been playing them since I was a kid, I am still terrible at them.

Did it 5 times and averaged ~270ms. Moved to a different monitor and it went down to ~245ms.

The other monitor is bigger and has much higher brightness so I think that might help some.

I did this a while ago and your mouse switches can effect the speed. If I remember correctly, my Zowie FK1 with Huano switches was around 240'ish and my Logitech G700 with Omron switches was around 210'ish, some going as low as 180'ish. I believe this is why some people actually solder in the Omron switches into certain mice.
