Most shameful thing you've ever purchased
« on: Sun, 14 May 2017, 00:27:28 »
I remember buying pounds of fudge with within hour-guaranteed delivery at like 10pm

Once got one of those 3D boobs mouse pads, that was pretty shameful.

Probably more, I have to think... subscription to a porn site, that didn't feel good paying for :)) (no longer a member, that was years ago)

hmmm, alcohol and horneyness seems to have influenced most of these purchases

I generally hate all keycaps. Keycaps are for poofs. Real men touchtype on stems. Non-functional artisans are awesome, I use them for the ESC key ... escape is for cowards anyways, real men go frontal assault.

I hope it was at least from one of the better anime series... or this one.

Totally, there were are about as flipped as Zoo York, Status, and Element decks from that era. A few hundred dolphin flip attempts and out pops a woodchip the size of a pringles chip. Shortly after the Hook-ups deck I switched to Alien Workshop/Habitat boards and never looked back

Mhm, I was a big Kerry Getz fan back then. These days I learn towards Girl/Chocolate due to mellower concave. I can't ride a steep 7.5in deck like I could back then oi

I personally enjoy a good concave now, but I used to hate a board with a huge concave so I understand.

I once bought a Razer Black Widow Ultimate.*

*I got it on open box special for less than the normal BW (good), but since this was one of the originals, it had the sticky keys (bad).
Jokes on everyone though, it also came with some of the last good Cherry MX Blues, the hand picked ones we thought were a joke at the time.

I guess my biggest shame would also be that I've purchased a Razer keyboard. It died within 6 months of use. Some switches became unresponsive.
Like, a corsair keyboard I can forgive because they're actually semi-decent imo. But Razer, there is no excuse.

Razer has made some legitimately good mice, it's understandable how people could get confused.

tbh I don't think the Black Widow is really all that bad, just that there are much better options and it looks atrocious. And for many people that is their entry into the world of mech keyboards, which I am totally for them serving that purpose.

I'm.. Not exactly a teenager.  :))

It was more about trying the switch and at the time, it was so new, no one knew the problems with them (which I fixed). It was more of an impulse buy than anything, being an open box item. As for Filco... That's actually where the switches ended up.

Mine chipped in a hurry. Same with Element, Zoo York at the time. Sure the boards are better now (Element/Zoo York - is Hook-Ups still a thing?) but back when I skated 5-12hrs per day every day the boards would chip in a week. I bought a Hook-Ups sticker some years after I bought the deck. The sticker never chipped so that's good.

One of my roommates decided to get a 30-rack of Bud so we could play True American and had me chip in, so that was probably my most shameful purchase.
