How much longer ya'll think people will keep doing this.

Once computer proliferation reaches 100% ,  wouldn't kybord become the primary replacing the pen ?

---- and if that's the case..   shouldn't we all just quit now ? hahahahahaha..

It's stupid slow how --legible penmanship-- is vs typing..

The inherent problem of these  "nice get" threads is the vanity..  where does it go ?

We don't pay for the Drill bit,  we pay for the hole..

But now,  these kids are paying for the drillbit ...    That's whack yo !

It's kind of like how in arts and crafts class..

they had us look at hieroglyphics for 10 minutes,  then we made our own for the next 30 minutes.

And we NEVER EVER TALKED ABOUT IT EVER AGAIN..

I didn't even hear the word egypt for years, until the movie mummy II came out.

At some point,  this will probably be in the realm of historians ..

"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

As long as humans are alive, nostalgia and a wistful yearning for the past will always exist.

Sending an e-mail = menial and disconnected from the real. It's just numbers and electricity flying by in the wires.

Sending a handwritten letter = Somehow feels more real to me.

Maybe I'm just a hopeless romantic/nostalgic person, but I will never take for granted a handwritten sentiment.

I was shocked when I found out my son wouldn't have to learn cursive writing in school—and that was over 10 years ago.

Apparently educators figure that with everyone typing on keebs and touchscreens, the occasional handwritten note doesn't warrant taking the trouble to teach handwriting.

My son, in bold defiance of this trend, learned to do it anyway. He realized that cursive writing would not only save a great amount of time when writing by hand, but that his writing would be a unique expression of his personality—and, as such, that it could be an enormously effective tool in self-discovery, something a keeb or touchscreen could never do.

Okay, not really. He prints everything—like my dad used to do, who never graduated high school. Ironic. Quite a loss, too, if you ask me.

And yes, we're discussing this on a keyboard forum. More irony.

yea, it's full of people who buy pens and can't use um' worth a damn.

your cursive r-i, i-t and t-i ligatures are all wrong. dot your i's after you're done writing the word. a g should have an empty circle.

if i didn't know what word i was reading, i'd guess 'havdwriflng'.

at least all three of your descenders (of which only two should exist) are the same length!

hahahahahahahahaha.. you're such a n00b..

There's the rules.. and then there's what's practical..    Spencerian script is very good looking, uniform etc...    But people don't use it because it falls too far off from practicality.

It's the same way with rules in english, rules on the highway,  etc etc..

Once you become an adult,  you'll get it.. and appreciate the natural lawlessness of what constitutes Practical Penmanship .

I guess ,  thinking back,   when I believed that eating meat was good for my health, and that it's a necessary part of the diet for big musclez and manliness..

I mean,  eating meat is responsible for 70% of erectile dysfunction,  in what way is that manly. hahahahahahhahaha

I was stupendously wrong about that.. and I admit to it..    But other than that.. I've been right about pretty much everything else EVER.. !!

last time I picked up a pen and was horrified about my handwriting.
in 20 years this will be like Latin.
Interesting to know but utterly useless.
