Green. Tea. KitKats.

These delicious little things are some of the best treats out there, but there is different versions and I am about to tell you some of the differences between the (only?) two different kinds I have here.

First up we have the Japanese 40% version, these are pretty easy to find at quite a few asian markets.

The Japanese version is lighter in colour has speckles and is generally softer in texture. The inner wafer is a lighter cream colour. The flavour is sweeter and lighter than the Taiwanese, also the texture is more buttery and smooth. I have never seen a full sized Japanese version one, only the miniature packs of 12.

Second, we have what I am pretty sure is the Taiwanese version, in its full sized glory.

The Taiwanese version is darker and more consistent darker green colour. To the touch it is also harder and doesn't melt as fast. The green tea flavour of this one is more potent than the Japanese version and the wafer inside is green unlike the Japanese version.
Personally this one is superior in flavour, and also comes in the larger form factor for more extended kitkat breaks

and a few comparison shots.

and lastly a mention to one of the best Matcha/Green Tea flavoured things I've ever had.

A Tsujiri Matcha Float. Soft serve matcha flavoured ice cream on top of a matcha slush this is the most amazing matcha ice cream I've ever had, usually matcha stuff has this bit of grain to it you feel? But this hell no it was perfect, buttery smooth softserve and not too sweet which I enjoy.

green tea kit kats are the ****. didn't even know there was a second kind though!

i went to https://www.facebook.com/viatokyocafe/ in hong kong and their soft serves were awesome

i also enjoy pocky and the other similar variations. theyre cheap and you can just kinda nibble on them

There's also a rumour that there's two different versions in Japan...one made for American sugar palate and the rest more matcha flavoured...

white rabbits are great, I got some of those too last time I bought some sweets. but my girlfriend ate them all q.q

Also I got some calpis candies which are great and imo better than the drink haha

I've been wanting to try some of the cooler flavours, I've tried raspberry and strawberry but sweet potato and some of the other ones look so tasty
