Maybe mirrors and lenses haven't changed in some global conspiracy, maybe you are getting longer.

My wife's phone automatically turns on "beautification mode" when the user facing lens is activated. I'm not sure how to permanently disable it, so I have to fidget with the settings every single time to turn it off. It makes everyone look like a Barbie doll with no pores, nose, or facial details of any kind, which makes men look especially feminine. If I look like crap, I want to look like crap in the picture too; you're not fooling me, Asus! It screws up historical records of my fatness or ugliness, so I really want true to life pictures to know if I'm improving. The normalization of obesity to the point of making cameras lie to us is scary.

Maybe they're waiting for gasmasks and latex to get sexy again.

The world has become a weird place.
