It has come to my understanding that some people on this forum isnt who they say they are.
Faking their names and stuff like that.

Whats your opinion on this?

You mean the rest of you weren't carded when you signed up?  I had to use my drivers license name.  Had to use the photo for my profile pic too.  So lame.

Well, all the mods can ip log and see who are repeat registers so if there are those kind of ppl they are only fooling themselves.

If the mods know what they are doing, doesn't matter if they are proxied or not.

I'm finally gonna confess, but I'm not really a dragon. Nor do I have fire that's white :(

What's the point of this thread? Maybe PM those people and unleash your anger directly. Or if you don't want confrontation with your real account, just make another account, then PM those people :p

This doesn't work though, because the same IP can be from a whole network. For example, a region within a school, apartment complex, etc.

I'm secretly Glissant's wife, in Norway. I'm keeping an eye on his American wife. Don't tell either of them.

goddamnit. thats why hes taking so long to come home
i can make your life a bit easier while you are waiting!
(...)Whereas back then I wrote about the tyranny of the majority, today I'd combine that with the tyranny of the minorities. These days, you have to be careful of both. They both want to control you. The first group, by making you do the same thing over and over again. The second group is indicated by the letters I get from the Vassar girls who want me to put more women's lib in The Martian Chronicles, or from blacks who want more black people in Dandelion Wine.
I say to both bunches, Whether you're a majority or minority, bug off! To hell with anybody who wants to tell me what to write. Their society breaks down into subsections of minorities who then, in effect, burn books by banning them. All this political correctness that's rampant on campuses is b.s.

There are several places called Sweden in 'murica. In NY, PA and ME at least. So it's all real.
I've seen someone claim to have a different name. And they even claimed to use the same account to be sure that they wouldn't be caught in the lie =p.

someone mentioned ip address, lol thanks to vpn ive logged into geekhack all over the world.

i'm a little confused though; is this thread about people having more than one account or the fact some people want to stay 100% anonymous and lie a little bit? I mean some lies are not cool in a forum like this like saying you own keyboards, switches, and peripherals you don't actually own. But saying you own an Audi R8 and have sex with Ukrainian top shelf hookers each night is pretty boss on a keyboard forum.

being anonymous is essential for some people, my identity is no secret and i am a bad liar so i just avoid lying, but i have no problem with people creating a new identity to protect their own identity.

Right, I think I've got it.

I've no idea what's going on with the secret santa thread and this keyboard donation, but that probably means you know that we've been having shipping problems with the board I sold Bunny. I and many other people have been using Collect+ for many things for a long time and never had any problems. I've been replying to all his PMs as soon as I can and am in contact with Collect+ and the store I sent it to. The package is also insured.

So why is there even a need to create a thread going on a tangent of anonymity, fake names and the such? How have we got to that? I'm quite confident that if it was any other member selling the board, there wouldn't be a thread the same day labeling them as a fraud.
