TP stop watching those hit stories on tv, they are made to propagate easily by telling you anything "scandalous" even if it is completely false, i have seen the reverse of the decor, and i have cousins in the restoration, although i am in France
They can't even take the risk of anyone getting sick, they have to keep samples of foods and inspections are not announced in advance, and you have 2 warning before they close you down for good so either the US is really backward and your health agencies are utterly stupid, or your hit piece just managed to find 2 or 3 restaurants in the whole of the US that do not follow the rules and made it seems like it was the whole industry, it is rather common for old media to do that. we also have those hit pieces in France and if you know what to look for they are laughable at best. when they have videos of one place looping in the background that means they are likely lying to your face when telling you that they are all like that, they would not need to show you only one place if it was the case, they would have plenty, and also what dumbass dirty restaurant owner would let them film?
those do not make you smarter, if you thought you were getting dumber then look no further and start to make your own research and cross reference things, 1 source to bring down a whole industry is not a good strategy... and most restaurants nowadays will refuse to sell you anything not fully cooked by fear of you being sick with it, if one client is sick then it can be instant game over.
