Should Restaurants Exist ? [txtwall]
« on: Wed, 10 February 2021, 18:38:44 »
Under capitalism:

1_ The restaurant is financially motivated to give you the dirtiest food they can get away with to maximize profit.  Every handwashing, hand wipe is an added cost to just moving the food into the customer's mouths.

2_ The customer can't tell that it's dirty, dirty food short of actual mud is undetectable, tastes the same.

3_ the health inspector can be paid off, there's also a limit to what he can find in the short window that he's there.

4_ most people are poor. The income inequality necessarily dictate the average cleanliness possible. If the market isn't capable of supporting clean restaurants, then restaurants will be dirty, they're not just going to give you m0ar clean for free. Maybe a restaurant serving billionaires can price in "clean", but not mcdonalds.

5_  the least educated base of society occupy food service jobs. they also have the highest rate of drug abuse among any industry. they are treated the worst by wicked bosses, and they make the least money.

6_ major vector of disease, small space, designed to maximize density of eaters and foot volume.

7_ most restaurants serve animal derived foods, which in it of themselves are highly contaminated with fecal matter.  < 80% > of store bought chicken tests positive of contamination.

https://www.seattletimes.com/seattle-news/health/tests-find-80-of-chickens-in-seattle-area-groceries-carry-pathogens/

8_ 35% of slaughter facilities fail viral /bacteria testing.

https://www.motherjones.com/food/2018/08/chicken-salmonella-federal-inspection-slaughterhouse-sanderson-illness-usda/

9_ if you've worked in a restaurant, you know how hard it is, the terrible hygiene condition, and how much you don't give a fff.  Every worker in every restaurant feels that way ALL THE TIME.  Would you accept food from yourself while you worked in the industry ?

So, realistically, should ANYONE eat in restaurants ?

Restaurant food often tastes really good, especially when you have been eating your own cooking for too long.

At least cooking hits a threshold temperature that kills most germs.
"The Trump campaign announced in a letter that Republican candidates and committees are now expected to pay “a minimum of 5% of all fundraising solicitations to Trump National Committee JFC” for using his “name, image, and likeness in fundraising solicitations.”
“Any split that is higher than 5%,” the letter states, “will be seen favorably by the RNC and President Trump's campaign and is routinely reported to the highest levels of leadership within both organizations.”"

Not always true.

But also, it's not just the cooking that's unhygienic.

The dishes, the chef's rags, the floor, the utensils, etc

this thread is just trash

Yes restaurants need to exist. No they are not all dirty hole in the walls.
That's your fault for frequenting those places, don't blame an entire industry for your terrible standards and taste.

No they do not NEED to exist.

The MAJORITY are dirty holes in the wall.

They're economically motivated to be as dirty as possible to minimize cost.

I blame capitalism, not the dirty people who run restaurants.

This thread is also excellent,

So you're wrong on all accounts. :D

TP stop watching those hit stories on tv, they are made to propagate easily by telling you anything "scandalous" even if it is completely false, i have seen the reverse of the decor, and i have cousins in the restoration, although i am in France
They can't even take the risk of anyone getting sick, they have to keep samples of foods and inspections are not announced in advance, and you have 2 warning before they close you down for good so either the US is really backward and your health agencies are utterly stupid, or your hit piece just managed to find 2 or 3 restaurants in the whole of the US that do not follow the rules and made it seems like it was the whole industry, it is rather common for old media to do that. we also have those hit pieces in France and if you know what to look for they are laughable at best. when they have videos of one place looping in the background that means they are likely lying to your face when telling you that they are all like that, they would not need to show you only one place if it was the case, they would have plenty, and also what dumbass dirty restaurant owner would let them film?
those do not make you smarter, if you thought you were getting dumber then look no further and start to make your own research and cross reference things, 1 source to bring down a whole industry is not a good strategy... and most restaurants nowadays will refuse to sell you anything not fully cooked by fear of you being sick with it, if one client is sick then it can be instant game over.
