Blackwhites.

Quid est?
Pellets of very salty liquorice, in black and white, hence the name. I took some home when I visited the Netherlands :D .

Show Image

It's hilarious feeding them to foreigners, by the way - as soon as they get to the salty bit they just die immediately from the overpowering salty flavour XD .
Is that similar to Leijona?

I really want to try some tar candy. Liquorice is good and all but I think tar candy would taste like flavor country :)

It should be fairly comparable to Leijona in salmiakki flavour, I'd think. I haven't tried that, but salmiak is the thing that gives both their flavour. I know the Finns enjoy salmiak like we do, so it might very well be similar indeed.

I wonder if the Finns have anything similar to double-salted liquorice .

I've never had success with home made pizza..

The crust never comes out right..

Perhaps you need a new oven to bake in?

buy a new oven, to make pizza for myself.. or spend that money and just order pizza for a whole 2 years.. hrrrmmm...

what went wrong? :P

The crust will always be too soggy, or not fully cooked, but the rest will be too done..

maybe next time you could try put the crust in the oven and blind bake for like 5-10 minutes first, then take it out and put the sauce on and back to the oven again :D

I tried to make chicken parm once..

Then it was terrible,  so I just went to popeyes, got some thighs, melted a piece of cheese over it and dipped it in some marinara sauce..

These things are insanely good, the local Asian grocers sell them.  They taste like a BBQ frito and a peanut had a crispy baby and this was the end result.

I ate over 25 cans of this while I was in China..

It was super fresh because I was closer to the source.

I prefer the regular coconut flavor though.

How does one avoid sugar entirely?  Do you not eat fruits, etc?  What *do* you eat?  Very curious.

I do not eat processed sugar. Only cane sugar, honey (true honey, not "sugared" bees honey), agave.

It really fixed ALL my cravings for sugar. Plus I feel much better and more even mood throughout the day.

Crack slaw.

That looks amazing. What's in it?
It's basically just ground beef cooked with a cole slaw mix and a few different seasonings (garlic, onion, chives, salt, pepper, paprika, soy sauce, sriracha sauce, vinegar).

http://www.tasteaholics.com/recipes/video/easy-crack-slaw-video/

Similar to that but I didn't have all the seasonings and substituted others and I rarely measure seasonings for things like this.

On the plate closest to me, the item on the top is american fries and the item on the bottom is eggs benedict (I think this is the one you're asking about - english muffin, ham, poached eggs, topped with Hollandaise sauce  ^-^  so gooooood).

Had some actually good Indian food today for the first time in ages. Forgot how damn good Indian food can be, so many gloopy gloops to droop over basmati rice.  An endless sea of exotic gravys all full of flavors and textures!

It's fun getting a few different types of naan and a bunch of dishes and just scooping it into the bread.  Wash it all down with a mango lassi and some gulab jamun :thumb:
