well not my ring tone but my notifications.

For my wifes ring tone I use "I Get Off" by Halestorm
A group of friends that I would like to have as a zombie apocalypse team I use "Still Swingin" by Papa Roach.  If you don't see why you should check out the video.
For everyone else its a song from the World of Warcraft Mists of Pandaria Soundtrack.

When you uninstall windows 7 and use your i7 CPU to use your PC under MS-DOS only ?

Or best, when you install a text mode only linux or unix OS and use these mythics word processors such as V.I. or emacs, and if you really burn out, you start coding new unix binaries with 10 pages user manual in ASCII :))

Geek definition is quite not very clear...  I feel I'm geek when I prefer coding in assembler or Ada then all these crap new languages... but is this being a geek ?

I had a friend, many years ago who was coding games on an Oric Atmos using 6502 machine code directly with POKES, not even an assembler, he had memorized all instructions hexadecimal codes and he was doing the assembler job using paper and pencil... this is true. He was IMO a great geek !

Amazing, but modem sound is very close to fax sound, so you may not be identified as a geek :p

I just met few days ago a real geek, if he was not married and retired from the Royal Navy, I would have called emergencies...

He's got a 10 computers network in his flat, most of them are powered on 24/24, if he was not a britton like me and if he did not need some kind of hobby, I would have tell him to see a psy. IMO he is definitely a geek, a hardcore geek.

(Attachment Link)

it depends...

the point is to look really ****ty on the outside, but be totally BEAST on the inside..

For example.. my computer looks like its guts are falling out...

The harddrives are literally all outside of the case..

BUT..... it runs super cool, because no covering, and super quiet, because of open air flow.

mine don't need to be opened, it's a cheap case but a smart case, reverse ATX, CPU is bottom, 660GTX is up with air cooling upside, no noise, no dust, no heat^^ The best cases are the 90° turned motherboards with all I/O slots at the top of the case, few brands sell these but this is real geek case IMO^^

hmm.. i suppose our opinions differ as to what determines a "geek computer"..

I only care about 3 things:

Overclocking

Quiet operation

Price/ Performance ratio

Everything else seems unimportant.

To conclude : what is a geek ?  Maybe you're a geek as soon you decided you are^^
Anyway, if I feel like beeing a geek, it's only because I'm single, once married, I'll probably put all my stuff in my cave and even forget the "geek" word :p

Nope.

Has someone found an explanation for this? It seems illogical stamp 'PBT' to the bottom of an ABS space bar.

Edit: Thanks. I found some discussion on DT about it:

Quote
No black Cherry Corp space bar is PBT. I have a 6.0 unit space bar from a more recent black double-shot ABS set -- with the text >PBT< in it, and it fails the acetone test, indicating that it is not PBT!
It was just made from the same mold as PBT space bars. A curious detail is that when I compare it to a light grey PBT space bar from what is otherwise the same type of keyboard, the space bar that is really PBT is 1.5 mm shorter! (measured with calipers)

i don't see how coding in ada is very geeky. though i wish the language had java-scale support from large it vendors.

The first group, by making you do the same thing over and over again. The second group is indicated by the letters I get from the Vassar girls who want me to put more women's lib in The Martian Chronicles, or from blacks who want more black people in Dandelion Wine.
I say to both bunches, Whether you're a majority or minority, bug off! To hell with anybody who wants to tell me what to write. When you refer picking up stuff as loot,

Whenever you go out with people, you refer everything has a quest,

You perfecly know your friends stats of might, dexterity, constitution, intelligence, wisdom and charisma aswell as their special abilities,

When you see your diplomas as achievements,

and you always wear your headset in front of your computer even if you are not on teamspeak nor playing any music.

The problem with net-neutrality is that  there does exist information that "certain" people are not-ready-for..

Given that.. censorship is a requisite to preserve social harmony..  Will this be abused.. sure ... it will..

but...  total-net-neutrality is no less an Ideal that can not possibly exist..

visiting family for chinese new years and i bring the ps3 and monitor(with hdmi and built in speakers) so she can play skyrim(she just finished a 2 year project and is catching up on backlogged games).

she complains about the monitor being so small, i say you game on a projector, any monitor/tv in the world would seem small.

also wolf among us eps2 came out and i can't d/l it on psn cuz there's no internet connection at parents house, every wireless is seemingly secured and we have verizon with 2gb limit caps. gotta cut it short to go home, for wifi.
