Finally finished season 1 of The Ark,

Honestly, it's not great, it's crude and verbose often,  but plotwise it's still better than most of the stuff on TV.

Still recommended, as a drama it's squarely alright.

Full River Red

4.5 billion yuan box office in China, ~$650million USD.

Honestly, movie was so - so, more/less unwatchable for western audience due to language/cultural barrier.

This movie poster is cool though.

Renfield,   not super fresh,  but very watchable,  nothing outright didn't work.

straight forward, you are entertained, you go to bed.

Tetris. Really interesting story telling. I liked it :)

Oh my god what the ****, why would they pin a moustache on a man as handsome as Taron Egerton, that should be illegal!

It can not be overstated how good Cyberpunk Edgerunner is. The synchronous flow state of the plot, with perfect fluidity, transporting the audience into a dystopia that is so futuristic, yet frighteningly flawed/ human/ and familiar.

4th time rewatching.

Hmm, might give that a try then. Not really an anime person, but I love cyberpunk.

Deep Impact finally on 4K...

Image is graded a little on the dark side, outdoor scenes feel overcast.

Great movie nonetheless, overall image quality very gud'

Practical props/sets hold up pretty well, the CGI, unfortunately does not

A Knock at the Cabin,

45minutes in,  Prettttty gud'  some elements are a little slow, buhhhh. still, intrigue is well maintained.

298920-0

Got to the ending. Not terrribly compelling, buh for something reasonably fresh, it's alrite. Overall watchable, even if it does deepen one's existential dreads.

Rewatching The Office. It's crazy how shows like this and Seinfeld hold up after such a long time. The comedy is timeless, and it rarely distracts with traps like outdated tech or social changes. I notice most of the shows that hold up for so long are comedies. Wonder why that is?

Yep, I've seen it, like you said - bland, boring, too shallow, felt like made by amateurs. Stupid comedy to put it lightly ;)

Samson and Delilah. It was ****.
(...)Whereas back then I wrote about the tyranny of the majority, today I'd combine that with the tyranny of the minorities. These days, you have to be careful of both. They both want to control you. The first group, by making you do the same thing over and over again. The second group is indicated by the letters I get from the Vassar girls who want me to put more women's lib in The Martian Chronicles, or from blacks who want more black people in Dandelion Wine.
I say to both bunches, Whether you're a majority or minority, bug off! To hell with anybody who wants to tell me what to write. Their society breaks down into subsections of minorities who then, in effect, burn books by banning them. All this political correctness that's rampant on campuses is b.s.

The mother,  plot is too much pick and choose your adventure, a hodgepodge of worn spy movie tropes.

Nothing outright wrong with it, j-lo is a competent actress, and she's clearly working hard, but without the little leftover from her lifelong ago fame, she would not pass a current screen test, certainly not in what constitutes a bland plot.

Really enjoyed the DnD movie. The first half is SUPER SLOW, but the second half more than made up for it. Very back-heavy movie, I am certain there will be a sequel since it's doing so well on streaming.

In the sequel I hope to see Tiamat and a Lich and a Dragon Turtle would make my day  :thumb:

It's pretttty messy.   at times a bit too gory, even if it's alien goo.

Not a bad movie overall. but messy.

If you're curious about what happened with the whole Gamestop AMC stock thing from a few years ago (that's still on going), or curious about how stocks work, I HIGHLY recommend it.

What you think you know, you don't.
The film itself is a bit slow to get going, it's a documentary maker trying to find his footing but once it gets rolling it's pretty good and will explain a LOT of how things work as well as what happened in an entertaining way (even better if you followed the debacle). The system is so corrupt it's insane, I'm not sure even those involved know how corrupt it is (certainly not day traders) and if you think your retirement is safe in the stock market (hedge fund or 401k) have I got some really bad news for you.

Tp4 agrees also.

that is a lie. J-Lo is not a competent actress.

Admittedly Tp4 has only seen 2, J-Lo movies.  This 1 and Selena.  Tp4 thought the acting was ok...

The Cell is by far her best work. Really it's just a great movie, they could have put literally anyone in as the doc and it'd still be great.

tp should watch The Cell, very visually striking film  :thumb:

Tonight I'm going to watch The Mother and Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves.
Don't know if these will be good, will see and report back :)

Just watched it, was a bit worried it'd be bad, happily relieved it's very well put together.

Fight choreography well done. They're all elements we've seen before, but the arrangement is fresh and fluid.

It plays like an updated lord of the rings, less drudgery, more fun.

The CGI did not blend very realistically due to unrealistic light bounces. But most sets still looked cool.

Rewatching 65 in better image quality.

Found it odd, that this actress could get cast as another daughter character so close together in 2 different movies.

Read her wiki, father camera operator, mother television producer. LOL, nepotism ftw.

Actually really excited with across the spiderverse, cause I really enjoyed the first one. Might go see it with my dad, it's probably something he would actually like (I took him to see a re showing of Tokyo Story and he fell asleep during the film, I loved it though)

Just got out of the theatre and i am literally speechless for words. Incredible, incredible movie. You need to go to see ATSV, but i would recommend learning ITSV for learning material. Will make you look at the first movie in a completely different light. Cliffhanger near the end is genuinely shocking

That's reassuring lol, I also forgot that ATSV was two parts.
