My mom traveled across the country to visit after not seeing each other for over a year, and she would rather spend time with her SO that she sees all the time than her own son.
Not a situation a man of my age should need to deal with.  >:D :'(

SO as in ur father ?

If it were my dad that is what I would have said.

My baby girl Pixel was diagnosed with luxating patella in both her knees, a condition that is apparently extremely rare in cats. This means that aside from being in constant pain, gradually over the years she will lose mobility in both her rear legs. They can preform a surgery where they cut a groove into her legs to keep her kneecaps from slipping out, but it's $3k a leg.
I was playing with her earlier and she was trying her best running around and jumping to catch the feather on a string, but after a short while she began limping again and soon couldn't play anymore at all. I started crying like a little *****.

insurance would not cover this, my vet would need to bring in a specialist to do the surgery

Fuk dat insurance man....

idk , can cats go vegan?  no agenda.. just ideas..

Maybe what was it..  Gelatin powder,  it's extracted from pig skin,  I've heard it's good for joints,   Or it could be meat-marketing bull**** lies..

point is,  the powder is <$3000 per leg,   so you could try it..

Facebook bots picked up where Instagram bots left off. I don't know if they're looking for houses with stacks of newspapers at the door or they actually offer services. deny/mark as spam, next, deny/mark as spam, next... I'd totally delete my account--unfortunately, I need the account for potential second job screenings. jfc

Jobs that are well below tp4tissue's standards of quality of course. I keep my bot infested Facebook account so potential employers that have no idea what Slack or Mastodon is, know I exist. I'm still pulling myself out of the suck.

What's bothering me is that I'm supposed to be installing insulation (foam backer rod and expanding foam), primed wood trim and drywall around some new patio doors instead of sitting here typing this.

On the surface, you wouldn't think this was something one should be bothered about. Normally I'd agree, but I just saw my wife get the bullwhip down from the wall.

I've been using a dell 21.5' 1080p monitor for the longest time and honestly wouldn't change it for the world. It's perfect.

Well if you're used to your desk being a certain size..  Then it'd be hard to imagine the possible changes..

But with a --Deeper-- desk,  you can put the monitor further away  (more comfortable for eyes),   and the further away, the larger it needs to be..

I really really should have checked the basement of the building in my old job. It was a small company (~30 people) founded 26 years ago. IBM partner since the start i believe. I remember there was LOTS of old stuff stored away there. I mean keyboards, servers etc. The boss apparently didn't like to throw anything away.
Who knows what treasures could be there without anyone realizing. Old IBM keyboards ... maybe an SSK? ^^ Back then i wasn't into mechs .. unfortunately.
I don't even remember what models i could have possibly seen. Except for the ibm thing with 24 F-keys, the battleship .. that i remember .. i was like "WTF 24 F-Keys, for what??" .. and then they introduced me to their still running IBM AS/400 db server .. that i will never forget  ;D

Sigh....Amazon.....ordered a couple shower heads, and some other bits and pieces to have a split setup...got everything but the shower heads a few days ago.

I've chatted in just trying to figure out what's going on and they'd keep telling me I'd  have them the next day.

Finally today they can't tell me when I'll get them, I just have to wait with no estimated delivery...OR I can spent 4x as much on a similar product and they'll give me $5 for the inconvenience

Android phones are too big

and are updated for about 18 months.

Nokia is going to solve this with "unlimited" upgrades and updates. We'll see.

I think 5 inch is a good size for the screen for mostly everyone.

Because squinting gives you wrinkles..

Would you rather have wrinkles  or a slightly bigger phone..

Wrinkles are forever..

Even on the 5 inch,  you gotta squint sometimes to see..

I trialed an ipho se  for a bit,   it is definitly fast enough,  and I'm a light user, the battery was OK...    but i was struggling to read what's on the screen..

So went back to 5 inch screen.

The coworker sitting near me may be the most annoying human on planet Earth when just sitting there. He spins his keycard around like a fidget spinner constantly, farts all day stinking up the joint, leaves wet used tissues piled on his desk, makes fried fish in the break room microwave, is constantly making weird loud grunts and other noises, he is always laughing at some video blasting in his headphones, and currently he's sick coughing and sneezing and making gross mucus sounds. I swear to ****, I wanna kick his potato-looking ass down a flight of stairs.

Seriously, you gotta say something to him sooner than later. If you wait it's gonna blow up into something big. Ask him to go on a walk with you and tell him nicely. If he's still a pig after that then smash his face in with a ratchet..

My Wheelwriter fell over during the night and the keyboard came loose from the carriage area. Thankfully it's still intact and functional, but one of the space bar clips broke, so the stabilizer doesn't hold, and the keyboard is a bit floppy now.

I'm so sorry :-(

I feel so lucky to have an office where I'm all alone  :thumb:

I think 5 inch is a good size for the screen for mostly everyone.

Because squinting gives you wrinkles..

Would you rather have wrinkles  or a slightly bigger phone..

Wrinkles are forever..

Even on the 5 inch,  you gotta squint sometimes to see..

I trialed an ipho se  for a bit,   it is definitly fast enough,  and I'm a light user, the battery was OK...    but i was struggling to read what's on the screen..

So went back to 5 inch screen.

I can buy a smaller phone, or throw away all my pants :-)

Noes! Sorry to hear that man.

What's bothering me right now is that my summer vacation is over and a lot of people are just starting theirs.

Yeah, I tested the keys quickly before leaving for work and everything registered, so I guess that's good. Will inspect it more carefully this summer and see if I can repair the looseness. It's my main typewriter, but I moved it to the top of a couple of boxes as I needed the area to work on some model kits. What I didn't know is that part of the bottom-most box was half empty, so the weight of the typewriter caused that part of the box to cave in until it completely toppled over the Wheelwriter.

Sometimes I go into the empty office near me and pretend like I matter
