If I was a little bit younger... I'd totally use this..

It's fully modular.. you can use ANY of the components separately...

Not sure if it's got a plate though...

I agree that it is ugly as sin. However, most gaming gear share this same sort of look. This one went over the top . Would not be surprised if there are people that get it for its looks. To each his own and all that.

Am I correct that the tenkey can be moved to the left side? That is an awesome feature. I also like the extra column on the left. Too bad the rest of it is so awful. Wtf is that extra sixpack over the Fn row?

Yes. And that is apparently a customizable(?) WASD cluster for easier access to moving around while gaming. It attaches to an accessory rail, which may apparently get more accessories in the future.

IIRC you can if you have a cable with a USB-A Female end.

This keyboard is really ugly, but I have to give them credit for their willingness to experiment with non-conventional features like the movable number pad, accessory rail, etc. Perhaps most interesting is what they've done to increase protection against spills...the plate actually comes up and covers the sides and part of the tops of the switches, making it harder for liquid to get to the electronics.

I actually wish that more companies were this willing to try out new ideas-- but in the form of less embarrassing-looking products, preferably with better quality, and not so large that even a decided non-minimalist such as myself would have to consider it enormous to a fault.

It should. I know for sure that it's a standard sized USB connection, so it's more a matter of whether it's an extension cable or 2 male ends. I do think that it's the former. I'll see if I can find the NCIX Video showing it off when I get home.

EDIT: HERE IT IS

It does utilize a standard USB A male to USB A Female, so an extension cable will work just fine.

I was actually looking at this board a while back because it was on sale pretty cheap. I liked the movable number pad and the spill protection. Mainly because i killed my old keyboard by spilling coffee on it. I bought a thermaltake meka keyboard but i didnt like it either.

I would of bought this thing in a heartbeat if I as still in high school. I love the move able keypad, my old Sidewinder had that feature.

I have to agree, the idea is good, and even the execution isn't bad (if overkill in some aspects), it's just an aesthetics issue for the most part that really hurts it in my opinion. Eliminate the geometric gamer/armored look and it could be a good keyboard for a lot of people, even in the office. Macros aren't just for gamers.

I thought it actually looked decent once it had the multicolored caps. Crazy colors for a crazy board, I think I'd how i3oilermaker put it, and I agree.
