I used to just go and watch a movie, no popcorn or other food. But with kids is different subject

How true.
"The Trump campaign announced in a letter that Republican candidates and committees are now expected to pay “a minimum of 5% of all fundraising solicitations to Trump National Committee JFC” for using his “name, image, and likeness in fundraising solicitations.”
“Any split that is higher than 5%,” the letter states, “will be seen favorably by the RNC and President Trump's campaign and is routinely reported to the highest levels of leadership within both organizations.”"

Rewatching, The Road (2009).

It doesn't feel very far away. There's no longer this disconnect, as if it were unimaginable.  For many folks in Africa/Southern India, even burn-y places United States, this is already the reality.

Cinematography is fantastic, it's got just enough softness that you can really take in the mood.

Ok, that was a gud' trek episode,  you'll want to watch this one with the HIFI-system plugged in.

It'd actually be really interesting if this theme was repeated in the future. One would say however, a few more nuanced key-changes would be welcomed, because as I assume these actors are not professional singers, they've kept the progressions simple and narrow to avoid too lengthy a dubbing process,  That said, at $Millions an episode, you could reasonably expect them to tech up vocally a bit.

The musical weakness is of course the autotune, some of the embellishments/ inflections are a bit too forced.

If they dropped the unity theme, the range could be expanded much further.

Fast X,

They're not even trying to work a coherent plot. It's all loosely strung cliches and club music.  The equivalent of a laughing track in place of any real comedy.

Burn After Reading 2008, almost formulaic at this point given the lengthy history of successful british comedies of this type, still, highly enjoyable.

Strange new world episode 10, mm... It's just OK... Not bad, but I feel like since this type of plot is so familiar, it doesn't need extra episodes to drag out.

Futurama Episode 3 was alot better than the first 2.

Finally got around to watching Paint, with Owen Wilson.

It's pretty funny, without using any trashiness, common of modern comedy.

Didn't like the social justice underlay, it was too heavy handed in places, but this is the era, so, overall only slightly distracting.

Good story telling.

Weird Science, finally out in 4K. Scan quality is great, no grain suppression, they only patched the blemishes.

The Eternal Daughter.
I thought it would be good, but wasn't. Did not feel that mystery/thriller excitement, from the beginning I felt that her mother wasn't there.
Wasn't awful, but I would not recommend it.

Solar Opposites Season 4,  it's a bit more mellow than the previous seasons, the voice change is jarring for the first few episodes, but you get used to it. There wasn't as much korvo material this round.

Oh yes, this one is special, it was pleasure to watch all those scenes. I don't know how to say it in english - framing (?) - is exceptional.
They play with light very well too. Its a joy to watch this kind of movies, I really liked it, every time I go back to this one :)

I think I've only watched at least on of the videos they made on the star wars prequels and honestly it was a pretty good video. I think I was too young to get into red letter media when I started using youtube which was like 2012 or something. Need to re watch the prequels as I haven't done that in a long time, I did enjoy them as a kid but I remember barely anything from the whole trilogy.

I've been watching them for years, ever since "Plinket's" Star Wars reviews. ... Edit: eleven years ago.. wow.

BTW. do also check out Noiselund making silly music of their videos.

Rewatching Twilight Zone, bluray looks real gud' on the ol' CRT. 1280x947 @ 71.933hz

1440x1080 scaled down, you don't lose much resolving power.

Seriously, the PLOT and DIALOGUE are so good, people speak coherently, and you understand them.  We accept that modern shows are dystopian, with marmite for people, but god damn they aught to have a larger vocabulary.

Remember watching some of the classic episodes of the twilight zone, truly was ahead of it's time in a lot of aspects, and those episodes were extremely good as well, especially to serve man and nightmare at 20000 feet.

Good one with Robert Redford, I like his movies, genuinely good actor, from the era when they made them good, not like those young ones nowadays :)

In the episode Escape Clause, Walter Bedeker makes a deal with the devil for eternal life, he gets bored of everything, accidentally gets sentenced to life in jail,  he decides to use the escape clause allowing the devil to take his life immediately as he doesn't want to spend thousands of years in prison.

The only way to progress the story was to become excessively morbid or psychotic.  But they give it an ending which explains the premise, that everything would be boring without consequences. This leaves the violence out of it.  The show is expressing a thought, not chasing thrill for shock or horror.

There is restraint, and there is class. Something modern tv is devoid of.

This is the first time, where the Show's moving sooooo fast Tp4 has no idea what's happening. Are we just supposed to know all these names? Is this show for people who's already very familier with the backstory?

Ha(kers finally out in big resolution.

Just noticed the scenes depict them typing really slowly as the text comes up on their monitors about 4 characters / second, are we to believe these guys only type 48wpm ? The shots of their hands also indicate they're not touch typing.

48wpm wouldn't even meet qualifications for a secretary/receptionist back in the day when they had such requirements.

Oh you just brought back childhood memories, I had this film recorded on network tv and used to watch it all the time. Nowadays it's really corny but my childhood heart thought that this was the coolest thing, did a writing project in year 4 that was based on this stuff cause I loved it a lot.

Need to rewatch this

I was like 8 when I was obsessed with it so I never really cared about that in fact I cared so little I didn't know there was nudity until I watched a video about the film a couple years ago lol, I just liked the cool hacking stuff, appealed to my child brain lol.

Outer Limits vs Twilight Zone.

Twilight Zone was more sophisticated and better executed, but The Outer Limits was more experimental and inconsistent.

As a young teenager when they were on, I can tell you that the Twilight Zone was more "interesting" but that The Outer Limits was far more "scary" ....

Reservation Dogs.
Season 3 is out now and it is on a whole new level.

Just discovered How To With John Wilson. What an odd slice of life, and insane it got picked up for 3 seasons considering its non-conent anti-format.

It's like Nathan Fielder meets Joe Pera, shot guerilla style

If you watch any slaughter house video,  it's basically 1:1.  We already do this.

So is this morally wrong?

So is this morally wrong?

Morality is a cognitive short-hand for maintaining efficiency and eco-system balance while we satisfy desires/needs.

No, given our current technology, eating meat is morally bankrupt, as it is neither efficient, nor is the action ecologically sustainable.

Beyond moral bankruptcy, the system is entering into actual bankruptcy,  The fact that none of us can afford a house is the benchmark.

Just watched episode 4 of invincible and i'm fully convinced that this is a comic book to page adaptation in its finest. However, apparently the other half is being delayed to january as they put on the final touches. I guessing its just poor management.
