Why would video games remain the same price for 40 years? You don't think the price to develop and manufacture them has gone up exponentially? You want game developers to make .11 cents an hour?
The price of a video game has gone up just like any other product, people are just complaining because it happened quickly instead of gradually over time due to previous generations of hardware relying on game sales while selling their hardware at a loss. That model does not work in today's market, developers are hemorrhaging money, needing to turn to things like crowdfunding and early access just to barely squeeze out a game.
I feel like game prices are just starting to normalize. A 60-100hr experience should cost $80-100

This is going no where, these people care about themselves, the rich and powerful will just sell them more distractions(copium) as they always have.

This happened to me during 2002. After several dead-beat doctors who could not put this together and sometimes refused to do anything because I already had visited a previous doctor .... I went to the emergency room and had to lie: claiming that all my symptoms were new. First then did I get an X-ray, which led to a diagnosis. By then, the blood-cancer in my knee had spread and become chronic (treatable for the moment, but not completely: it can return) and I had a secondary cancer that led to the removal of my colon.
The bad doctors are still at their old jobs, allowed to "practice" medicine.

I disagree. The Democratic Party lost because of the gullibility, disinformation, and stupidity of people who can't get past first order thinking.

I believe you are in this industry and it's not that I don't want people to be able to make a living, after getting their computer science degree. My gripe is with general greed. Its the same with movies, instead of creating artistic movies with a small budget, every movie needs to be a 500mil investment, hoping to make a billion. I have stopped buying "AAA" titles because most are broken, incomplete, and not worth their time investment. Now, there are exceptions to the rule, but there are no shortage of creative, fun games, that only cost $20-$40 at regular MSRP pricing. Dredge, Stardew Valley, Dave the Diver, Untitled Goose Game, Raft, etc.

Couple that with games are shipping broken with the expectation that paying customers dog food the game and only after a few months and a few patches, do they get a full game.

EDIT: Also selling a game with a season pass with the hopes that they will deliver DLC that is anything close to what was promised. Stop selling games/content that doesn't exist.

So, the United States pushes Ukraine into war with Russia.

War starts> France+Germany says hol'up let's negotiate> Britain+USA says NO negotiations, blows up the gas pipeline, we need to hurt Russia, Ukrainians can die, it's not our army dudes, sends weapons, cash, etc, props up their puppet Zelensky.

Now, Trump comes in, calls Zelensky a dictator, and "sells" Ukraine back to Russia for Mineral rights, which we won't even be able to collect on. Because they'll be rebuilding infrastructure for at least 20 years, after which climate change basically kills everyone anyway.

What a waste of money and munitions. We have a ton of problems producing munitions btw. It just doesn't fall off trees. It's a highly toxic industry chemically, and minerally. Extraction of metals is 1% stuff, 99% tailings, which just pile up onsite, and it's just toxic pollution. The chemistry pollutes rivers, population centers. Workers have way higher rates of cancer. These factories are horribly toxic because they don't have oversight/laws which can be enforced, when it's producing for the enforcers.

Zelensky can't exactly surrender to Russia himself, that would be the end of him and his chain of oligarchs, they'd all be hunted down to the ends of the earth.

Surrender is generally going to be a good thing for Ukraine and the world, but it's only a short term reprieve.

Trump torpedoing our own economy, well, again, good for the earth, bad for the low income americans, it's really just tax the poor so the rich can continue to spend lavishly. This is on the positive path, but it's absolutely the LEAST effective climate measure in relative terms.

That's not what happened. The Ukraine Invasion is 99% USA's fault. Our own military generals warned us for 2 decades that Pushing Atlanticism (Nato) was going to result in the destruction of Ukraine. That was Putin's red line, and we deliberately crossed it by our policies in expanding Nato Nuclear missiles eastward, even though we promised not to do so near the end of the Soviet Union in negotiation with Gorbachev.

It seemed like a good idea at the time, because the US could effectively destroy Russia, but the reverse was not true. But even after They've demonstrated Full-Capabilities to thoroughly Annihilate the United States, we CONTINUED to prod them with, maybe Ukraine joins Nato. Putin flipped the table over, and here we are. We just lost half the United States to Russia.

You do not understand how severe this is, but it was inevitable given our own disillusion with our capabilities. Capitalism played right into their hands.

In the end, it doesn't matter, this is all small potatoes compared to the climate apocalypse in the next 20 years.

Trump wants what Putin was able to do, which is to superseded democracy and install a fascist regime that rules through fear. Thing is Trump won't live that long, so all he's doing is making more work for everyone to reverse his damage once he croaks. Putin is in good health, and will continue to 'win' every election by default by poisoning and pushing his opponents out of windows.

It works for Putin because he was KGB and has a network of highly trained ops to do his bidding. Trump is attempting to do that with a network of teenagers with God complexes. It aint gonna work out the way he thinks.

I joined discord, specifically a server for older hardware (alps, etc). They are very staunch about not modifying or harvesting old key switches because preservation. But a keyboard is but a tool to interface with a computer. Nobody will be using an IBM 5140 laptop in todays world. The switches are the only thing of value (outside display/museum).

Agreed. While most things get more poorly built yet much more expensive as time goes by, there are dramatic exceptions.

Electronics, in particular - my first computer was a 1986 "IBM clone" with an 80286 processor, 10MB hard drive, and 1MB of RAM and cost me $2800 with monitor (but no printer).

And even though 1980s keyboards were generally much better built than today's wisps of plastic, the switches are often all that is salvageable. Even the key caps usually included a few truly oddball configurations that don't work in today's world.

PS - and don't forget how valuable those 1975 dollars were when gasoline cost half a dollar per gallon and the minimum wage was two dollars per hour ....
PPS - and a label saying "Made in Japan" meant that it was cheap junk !
