How much does a rising keyboard help in typing comfort?

So opposed to flat keyboards vs things like the classic KeyTronic or IMB M?

Depends a lot on many other factors in your setup.  Some of which include

Personal preferences
Height of keyboard
height of chair
your personal height
angle of your forearms
etc

The biggest thing is keeping your wrists parallel to your forearms, and not letting your palms/hands rest on anything while actually typing.

what I mean is that the rows of keys climb higher like steppes on the side of a mountain each row up.

It helps. I'm a small guy, I lean less forward to spam function keys. That's why I like some oem keycaps with row5. And feet set to the highest.
