That's closer to 0.2 Gigabit and is plenty for most people, I went from 0.35Gbit to 0.5Gbit recently and didn't even notice. They offered me 1gbit at the time but I turned it down.

Running .7 at home, with everything we have around the house between the lan setup I have for my son's rig and the cobbled together machines I have for when his friends come over to my Mediaserver/Workstation/Gaming rig and all the streaming devices - it seems to be ample for the home's needs.  Can't wait for my sister-in-law to move out, so I can reconfig the network as my hands have been tied since the modem/router/ap are all in her current room in the house - so when the network has issues I have to contend with her (been fighting to have the modem located more centrally in the house).

That reminded me of a time where we had maximum 10 download and 4 upload growing up, the internet in australia was an absolute joke back in the early 2010s, nbn is still not very good but much better than what I had (it still is a horrible system that is now outdated) 52.2 download and 17.5 upload isn't so bad though.

My parents would also not pay for those plans so I had to use about 8GB a month and I had to go somewhere else for unlimited, I think I got unlimited wifi for the first time around 2017.

Bought this intel ax210 wifi card with external antenna, WHY IS IT SO SLOW ?

Drivers installed fine, seems legit, can it be counterfeit?

Routers default to the lowest common denominator.
So if you have it on 2.4 and  an old N series connects... You're now stuck at N speeds.
This may no longer  be the case on newer routers, but on older or cheaper ones it's an issue.

Could also be just incompatible with your router, wifi standards (like USB) are a mess, not just channels can be crazy but authentication as well.

The router here is an asus ax86u (4x4 transmitter), it's as fast as wifi 6 can get before going 6e.

Even the ol' lenovo t460 with an intel 9xxx wifi card is faster.

Think Tp4 figured out the problem.  It's the terminations on the first board.

It goes from the wifi card via cable, then soldered onto the board, then through the board's traces and into the external antenna connector.

These connectors/ terminations must not have the proper impedance for the transmitter's signal.

The second board Tp4 bought goes from the card directly to the external connector via cable, these are all properly rated likely and so there's no refractance.  This new board operates correctly and is twice as fast.

Finally got 880 Mbps (110 Megabyte/s) real bandwidth over wifi working today.   AX86u router + AX200 wifi card

Turns out DFS channels (though plenty) are garbage because of low transmit power 250mw, (poor wall penetration).

Unii-1, ctrl channel 36, 1-watt transmit power, is the best for "most" places because the majority of consumer routers default to chan. 153

Even though 153 is also 1-watt, if it's crowded, and everyone's using 1 watt. It's worse.

Lower channel is also (slightly) lower frequency, again, just a slight edge in wall-performance.
