Big Trouble in little China. In which Kurt Russell (tongue firmly in cheek) plays a sidekick who believes he's the main hero.

Example: A scene where the heros ingest a "magic potion" of cryptically unclear composition and effect, before taking an elevator up to the final battle of the movie  ;D

We are s0oooo  screwed..

Yep. I remember the day when it happened. I was 6, in nursery, my dad picked me up and took me straight to doctor, where had to drink iodine.
All were told that it is necessary, so we do not get cancer...

I know someone who grew up in the contamination zone. My best friend's wife.
(...)Whereas back then I wrote about the tyranny of the majority, today I'd combine that with the tyranny of the minorities. These days, you have to be careful of both. They both want to control you. The first group, by making you do the same thing over and over again. The second group is indicated by the letters I get from the Vassar girls who want me to put more women's lib in The Martian Chronicles, or from blacks who want more black people in Dandelion Wine.
I say to both bunches, Whether you're a majority or minority, bug off! To hell with anybody who wants to tell me what to write. Ur thoughts on the Soviet Union ?

Haha, we would need to open new Thread for that:)
I really do not care about politics and the past. It is always hard to comment on something like that.
I was a kid during the time when Poland was in Communism, I didn't see anything wrong when was a kid, there were good and bad things I guess.
However, when you look at Charnobyl situation and how Russian government dealt with it, it is hard not to agree it was a disaster.

Have you heard about Kursk? There was also a movie about this accident. You would think that country would do everything for their citizens, but it's a whole different subject.

What's the synopsis ?

No real new information. Just clarification and confirmation of the details of Mr. Mueller's report.

Representative Lieu of CA framed the obstruction of justice case that could be pursued once Trump is out of office.

Mueller clarified his conclusion, "that there was no evidence of a criminal conspiracy between the Trump campaign and the Russians during the 2016 election." He did this just prior to the House Intelligence hearing as in the House Judicial hearing, he answered affirmatively once or twice when asked, "I’d like to ask you the reason, again, that you did not indict Donald Trump is because of OLC [Office of Legal Counsel] opinion stating that you cannot indict a sitting president, correct?”

The reason being that the former is the correct way to address the culpability of his findings as dictated by the special counsel appointment but the latter is also correct- probably for the obstruction case - which wouldn't constitute a "necessary and appropriate" prosecution, as the indictment can't be brought while he is in office. That is my understanding. Its ongoing

I finished "The Boys" a couple days ago; for as gory as it is, it's a refreshing take on Superheros, I was getting pretty tired of all the cookie cutter happy meal marvel films. Haven't caught up on "Peaky Blinders", it's okay. Like most series similar to it, it's interesting and novel in the first 1 or 2 seasons; then due to the characters' successes their future plights become mundane when they reach a certain scale.

My feelings exactly. After a fierce and protracted story line, particularly when major characters get killed off, reviving interest and excitement with a new story in a new setting is very difficult.
"The Trump campaign announced in a letter that Republican candidates and committees are now expected to pay “a minimum of 5% of all fundraising solicitations to Trump National Committee JFC” for using his “name, image, and likeness in fundraising solicitations.”
“Any split that is higher than 5%,” the letter states, “will be seen favorably by the RNC and President Trump's campaign and is routinely reported to the highest levels of leadership within both organizations.”"

Been putting off watching The Boys because the trailers made it look terrible and cheesy, but it's actually kinda good. Binged the first 6 in two days, and am finishing it up tonight. Karl Urban is like the love child of Colin Farrell and Hugh Jackman, and the other dude is like a bootleg Bill Hader.
Good show, would recommend.

Hrrrrrrmmm....... it doesn't look super popualr, but if NT says it's that good.. hrrrm.

img quality looks pretty good.. Good use of HDR,  not overblown.

You can tell it's shot on Red,  see it from a mile away.

I think a lot of people are mad because it deviates greatly from the comic books plot. Probably the very same people who have never read the comic or heard of The Boys before the show.

I think a lot of people are mad because it deviates greatly from the comic books plot. Probably the very same people who have never read the comic or heard of The Boys before the show.

Is the comic any good.

Eeek.... couldn't resist watching it..  on episode 4

Just quickly skipped over all the secs stuff.. similar strategy with Altered Carbon.. There is way to much of that, unnecessary.

Story is very good, the only unrealistic character seems to be starlight,  everyone else behaved logically..

The HDR and SDR on this show look very similar..  the SDR has quite alot of crush.. Perhaps they graded the HDR then auto tonemapped , because the shadows are too deep in some places in the SDR stream.

Watched the new Invader Zim movie last night and was very surprised by how good it actually was. They evolved the premise and characters to meet modern standards of character development instead of taking the easy route and just giving people more of the same. Very surprised, they did a great job. And the animation is good too.

The deaths were cool. But the movie overall was meh and a bit slow at times. But what was the kid's motivation? Seemed like he was killing for no reason.
