And of course, Google is evil.
They've repeatedly abused their browser market share (as above) and would/will only get worse as their share grows. The internet also changed due to Google's meddling, anything sexual has been pushed way to the back due to them having dominance in search and advertising. If you want to save the internet, ditch Chrome.
Is LLann saying this is good or bad ?

Bad...
Porn is still easy to find (because of course it is) but now sexual education/health has been pushed to the back.

What % of people use the googer for secs education? Is that not predominantly a skool/home subject thing?

Porno is to sex education what Professional Wrestling is to atheletic competition.
"The Trump campaign announced in a letter that Republican candidates and committees are now expected to pay “a minimum of 5% of all fundraising solicitations to Trump National Committee JFC” for using his “name, image, and likeness in fundraising solicitations.”
“Any split that is higher than 5%,” the letter states, “will be seen favorably by the RNC and President Trump's campaign and is routinely reported to the highest levels of leadership within both organizations.”"

Having a vast sex education resource that can be freely accessed is incredibly important, especially in places where sex ed isn't normally taught at home or school. But yeah most people learn this stuff in schools/home. Depends on the person much more than other things.

Porno is to sex education what Professional Wrestling is to atheletic competition.

lol. kinda a good analogy.

From what I've seen (in the U.S.), all those people who scream they should be the ones teaching sex to their kids are the biggest problem because most of them simply DON'T and even when they do, they wait faaar too long and the kid is either already having sex or the "talk" is like 2 minutes if them stuttering and barely covering anything.

"I didn't have it and I turned out just fine!"
The number of kids/STDs and unsatisfied partners says otherwise.

Is LLann saying this is good or bad ?

it depends. in my school we had like one day in middle school where the gym teacher came in and explained the basics and then a sophomore science class where they explained it in a scientific way (learning about zygotes, sperm, eggs asexual reproduction all that) but never really talked about the social/health part of it

then you have some schools in california where parents say their children come home with... toys so idk

Bad...

I mean I got sex ed but it touched only coincidentally on how gay **** worked, so my first time I got thrown straight into the fire.
One, Two, Three, Four, Five, Six, Seven, Eight, Nine, Ten, Eleven, Twelve, Thirteen, Fourteen, Fifteen, Sixteen, Seventeen, Eighteen, Nineteen, Twenty... Yeah that seems about right.

I replied to tp4 when they asked if it was more of a school or home subject and said "it depends. in my school we had like one day in middle school where the gym teacher came in and explained the basics and then a sophomore science class where they explained it in a scientific way (learning about zygotes, sperm, eggs asexual reproduction all that) but never really talked about the social/health part of it

but it messed up the order of the quotes and somehow put part of another guy's comment in mine??

All of a sudden ublock isn't blocking all the youtube ads, ne1 else seeing this?

Show Image

Just got an popup saying that ad blockers are not allowed on youtube and got reminded of this convo for some reason. Still can just watch the video without ads no problem, but really don't want youtube to continue this stance on no adblockers, cause it will ruin I and many others experience on this platform.

I have also heard people say "JuST bUy YoUTubE PrEMIum iF YoU DoNT WaNT TO sEe ThE adS..." which really bothers me. I am not giving google any money. I already pay with my data.

I haven't got that popup yet, but I expect it to be possible to have the popups closed automatically with a Tampermonkey script. Here's one that someone made.

I already use other scripts: to hide shorts boxes, to play shorts in the normal player ifever I click a link, and to trim search results to only search results.
I have used other scripts before that don't work any more because Youtube has made changes ...

How can people even use Youtube's web UI is beyond me. It's pure torture and it doesn't even give you anything valuable in comparison to downloading the videos.
(...)Whereas back then I wrote about the tyranny of the majority, today I'd combine that with the tyranny of the minorities. These days, you have to be careful of both. They both want to control you. The first group, by making you do the same thing over and over again. The second group is indicated by the letters I get from the Vassar girls who want me to put more women's lib in The Martian Chronicles, or from blacks who want more black people in Dandelion Wine.
I say to both bunches, Whether you're a majority or minority, bug off! To hell with anybody who wants to tell me what to write. Their society breaks down into subsections of minorities who then, in effect, burn books by banning them. All this political correctness that's rampant on campuses is b.s.

Thanks for that, I kept getting it but nothing happened so it's just an empty threat basically, more annoying than anything.

I think it's fine with some changes. I basically used extensions on firefox to remove all recommendations, If I need to find a new video, I can only search for them. Plus adblock, bringing back the dislike button (which my extension broke due to the changes on youtube) and sponsor block can make video watching far better experience.

I think this is kinda too far but it's the best for me at least.

I sometimes disable my "ad blocker" on streams of people I want to support.
The ads on Youtube that I do get then are often outright disgusting, and make me angry. No higher class than what I can find in my email spam folder.

yeah that's fair, the ads I get at least just annoy me to the point where even if I like creator, I won't turn off adblock.

Not even close to a vacation.

A Homer Simpson vacation.

Only fungi can completely break down the filth and prepare it for re-use.

As one of my coworkers once said facetiously, "Sex is disgusting and filthy, and you should save it for someone you love."

I'm approaching middle age and still don't understand how normal people meet and decide to have sex with each other. Sometimes I feel like I'm observing a completely different race of beings, trying to figure out how they operate and live.

decide to have sex with each other.

There are various motivations, possibly simplified to (1) pleasure, (2) reproduction, and (3) power, and they change over time.

Likely pleasure is the primary motivation at the young end of the spectrum and reproduction, as a motive, probably kicks in for many of us as we mature into early-to-middle adulthood.

The power dynamic is complex, and both genders can wield it in terms of requesting it as well as holding it back - inside an existing relationship or not.
The dramatic differences between male and female drives is a constant problem and frustration, and each side probably has a lot of trouble understading the other.

The drive is reproduction, from both genders. What they feel or "think" they feel is besides the point.

Evolution dictates that only those who desire to reproduce, live on.

All perception is tailored to further a SINGULAR outcome.

Even in the context of hyper-promiscuity, It is merely a different "strat" to further one's genes.  Typically male in this case, since they bare the least cost in the process.

As for how it's decided.  We have in-built sensors and cognition to recognize desirable genetic traits.  This includes all senses, not limited to visual.

It's important to remember that different traits are selected for under different life circumstances. It is the myriad of options which allow a specie to endure, optimal does not exist indefinitely and is only bound by the time-width of cognitive analysis. An inconsequential pebble might've made all the difference, but because it exists outside of our field of observation, it is excluded, our awareness and our existence "may" or "may not" have bounds, it is equally likely.

I don't know how else to put it. Dating and relationships just never really happened for me, and don't make any sense to me. I had 2 gf's my entire life, and that was like 14+ years ago. I'm not a bad looking guy, I'm a decent flirt, in ok shape, I occasionally get hit on at work and that feels great, but nothing ever comes of it and normal **** never happens to me. I don't understand how people meet, or decide to go from acquaintance to dating, or decide to casually hook up. It is like some ancient puzzle everyone understands, but I just could never figure out. It's very frustrating, and I have no one to blame but myself. And the older I get and the longer I'm alone, the worse my self confidence gets about the entire thing.

The fact that most people my age have already dated many people, been married and divorced, have families and kids, and I have never really experienced any of that life makes it even more difficult for both myself, and for other potential mates to understand. I assume everyone just thinks there is something wrong with me, and at this point I cannot disagree.

Is there something secret about leafblowing in the rain? Because all I see are two miserable jackasses running their ungodly noise machines in pouring rain outside my window, while the wet leaves go nowhere and just stick to the ground. Like they are scheduled to ****ing piss me off today, wtf are they doing out there? It is so loud, and they look so stupid, and it is so pointless.

Leaf-blowers? Don't get me started ...

They can't be good for the workers who use them either. The pollution. The back-breaking weight. The noise...

Woah, that last rick and morty episode, prettty emotionally charged.

The allegory of course is,  EVERYTHING we use/ eat comes from an exchange of life-spans from some living being.  //Animal Agriculture.

I guess it's designed to make people think about what it takes, and to maybe question the process, even if the episode itself ends on a comedic release.

Reading list?

We tend to lean on external acquisition because it's easier and gives us that shopping-buzz.

Realistically, gaining knowledge is probably the only thing we really hold-onto and can utilize day to day to refine decision making.

So, a reading list, where you check off books that improve one's intellect is a motivating endeavor.

Tp4 is reading one on mental math at the moment, it's been very difficult to calculate accurately large numbers without pen and paper.

Avoid the pitfall of junk-politics books, people with anxiety tend to obsess over reading books that merely affirm their entrenched ideology. These books teach you nothing, they're basically self brain-washing.

Tp4 struggles daily within the inane perturbations of reality. Ordered thought is only the semblance of stability, a minor respite from chaos. There is no guarantee that the legacy which propels the earth collective's concept of survival holds true across successively longer voids.
