Also, when does Chinese New Year typically start/finish? I want to order some stuff from China but don't want it disrupted by CNY.

I didn't want to start a new thread for just this Q either...
Can we get them to build the Alps ten feet higher and get Cherry to pay for it?

Tilapia's pretty good with everything.. Some fried oyster sauce..

Though Tp4 prefer Flounder.. it's more fishy, but he enjoys the texture softness..

So far the best fish I have had was swordfish for a white meat, and nothing can beat home smoked salmon for a pink meat fish.

Swordfish is a very flaky, and firm meat, think blue gill steak.

Look up recipes for prosciutto, that is a room temp dry cured ham.  The prosciutto that is made in Italy and sold in the USA has to hang for 100 days longer than the stuff sold in Italy due to USDA requirements.  So the prosciutto that is sold here generally has a stronger salt/garlic flavor than theirs. Prosciutto is cured at room temp with nothing but salt and garlic, pressed somewhere during the process, scrapped off, mold cleaned, salt/garlic reapplied, etc.  Thats about all I know, but I am a ways off before I get to that point.  My next endeavor for smoking meats is smoking my own slab of bacon.

Got to move to Italy.  USDA my ass.

Not saying that either one is better or worse, just a different flavor profile due to having to hang longer.  The reasoning behind the USDA requirements is because the meat is never cooked, the salt pulls enough moisture out of the meat to keep it from rotting.   The USDA is paranoid about that, so they require the meat to hang longer to pull more moisture out of the meat.

TOMORROW BEGINS CHICKEN/TILAPIA AND BROCCOLI/CABBAGE DIET.

I'm down 8 lbs (all water weight) from the first.  Steamed Cabbage SUCKS.   Steamed Broccoli is ok.

I think I want to experiment with using Kim Chi as a primary vegetable/greens at least every other day.

Problem with Kim Chi is if you get the healthy kind (sans MSG) it's pretty expensive at $4.99 a jar.  What's 7-8 servings is only 2 for me.

I can go to the H-Mart and get a big ass pail of it for a better discount but if I recall all of them had MSG...

Did a few stuff yesterday but it relates to today's events so I write all of them

My mom wrote my dead grandma's car on my name so I got my first car (rode it for year but just recently remembered that car documents are no longer valid).
Paid a huge wad of cash for the insurance (no sales for me :( ) because it's my first car and I only have driver licence for 3 years.
Had to get my car checked for safe usage and aced the test.

On keyboard related events - gave my colleague a Cherry G80-1800 to try out.
Keyboard design by Skepur

My boards: TMO50 FE:06 | LAGOM Groda-T | TMOv2 R1 prototype | Onyx FRL TKL prototype | Stege TKL prototype | Ellipse prototype | Cyberstar

I did get some rest plates with the C series, which is the high temp air cure. I had 3 done, one in a basic black, one in micro slick (designed specifically for reduced friction for engine parts) and one as a 50/50 mix.results were not good enough for me to market.

The last H series one I did has been in circulation for 6 to 7 months now, on a mouse with ceramic skates.  He told me the other day that there is no signs of wear.

Though I do still need to get a piece of UHMW officially tested.  This material has 90% of the same properties as Teflon™, but at a third the price.  I do have one piece that is 11.5"x12.5", but not cut square, very rough cut with a Skil saw.  The top is also scratched to hell and there is virtually no was to polish it.  This stuff has 15 times the abrasion resistance of carbon steel.

I would be willing to send it to you for testing for the cost of shipping,  though Monday will be my last chance to get it shipped until the 17th due to work.

It was 10F outside so I thought I'd try and warm things up.

Sometimes I wish i had one of those wood burning furnaces outside... like where its heating water to pump through subfloor heating or radiators or something. It would make great use of some junk wood you should burn in the house. Tons of junk pine around this area too.

Oh I'll tell you exactly what happened.

I bought a new memory foam mattress and decided to stop hoarding boxes so a huge pile of boxes (and a few odds and ends) along with the old mattress went up in flames and in the process some old tree limbs and part of a tree trunk in the pile from a couple years ago decided to finally start burning as well.

The pile is still smoking from last night, going on ~20 hours at this point.

Hrrrmmm...  so the mattress burning is just the red herring..

when the body is stashed some where else...

Quick.. check if Spam has bought any new drywall..  or deep freeze equipment..
