we never get 'workplace viruses' cuz we're an IT firm, but we do occasionally have to fight a few with some of our clients.

we have always been victorious...

Clearly , they've put clib in charge of the company brochures.. Their systems are actually rampant with viruses.

I have a 3d printed delid tool made, I even have the liquid metal.
Actually the 8700k doesn't have top mounted resistors or capacitors, it's just the (rather large) die you risk damaging and I just don't want to risk damaging a $300 processor.

Not concerned with overlcocking so much as dropping temps to reduce fan speeds/noise.

All was fine in my MATX box in the basement where I couldn't see or hear it, but recently I shoved it all into something not much bigger than a toaster and put it on my desk. It's silent under all but heavy loads but my wallet still hurts from that changeover so I'm a bit risk averse at the moment.

LAnn was comparing her compacted computer build to a toaster in size,   and Tp4 implied that a compact 8700k build is like a sports car for indoors and does not require socially acceptable outerwear during use.
