Just finished no game no life....waaaaaaaaay more fanservice than I was expecting.  Though I was told it wasnt that fanservicey from a guy who loves DxD and reads even ecchier stuff so I should have known better.

Still enjoyed it though.  Had a lot of my favorite VA in it and I liked the music.

I guess next I should finish toradora...i stopped like 2/3rds of the way through.

Lol aren't you used to fanservice by now after watching KLK?

I thought it was tastefully done LOL

And yes, finish that shiet

I cringed at parts of KLK for the fanservice.  But I also knew once I started it what to expect.  I wasnt expecting much in NGNL.  Then there were tentacle raping shampoo bottles and whole scenes dedicated to removing nipples, private parts, and women's clothing...just to show their bodies

Not saying I haven't watched ecchi stuff in my past.  I just feel my tastes have changed and wasn't too fond of it in NGNL.

Lol I guess I've been desensitized to fanservice

Oh and I watched the first ep of two new shows:
Tokyo Ghoul and Glasslip

Check them out ^^

Ghoul had an AMAZING first ep, and glasslip was a bit slow but it's so pretty

Did anyone else watch Tokyo Magnitude 8.0 (from 2009)?

I liked it.

I haven't seen NGNL yet, though hearthstone streamer TrumpSC said he liked it and in his opinion, the fanservice was satirical, which I find to be very interesting.

I'm currently working through Kill La Kill and I just have to take a break from the fanservice after episodes.

I only want to watch the anime for very specific scenes that I enjoyed while reading. Otherwise I hate re-experiencing things whether it be playing, reading or watching. The Manga art work so much better too, it's what got me into it in the first place (a very specific panel that I presume to be the ending scene for the first episode)

Ah that makes sense.

I liked it.
I watched it a few years ago and really enjoyed it. I wish there were more series like that about disasters/survival in general, as they are a nice break from the slice of life, comedy and drama series that I usually cycle through.

Also, to clear up the Taiga thing a few posts above, it is a program to keep track of anime that syncs with sites like MAL. https://code.google.com/p/taiga/

I was looking into it from your link.

It looks like it grabs and recognizes what you're watching without you having to do anything. If so: that's awesome.

that's exactly what it does

sorry for not explaining

i think it also gives you torrent links for the latest episodes, and i've been trying to get it to update the file automatically

meaning as you watch episode 3 of an anime, it's downloading 4 and 5 or something

i might just give up on that, it's really hard

Yes it does. If it does not pick up on the anime that you are watching due to the way the file is named it allows you to set it manually as well. You can set it to ask you whether you want to add an episode to your list after watching it, or let it update your list automatically once it registers that you finished an episode of a show.

TacticalStache beat me to it as I was typing this. On top of everything we mentioned, it is nice to have a local backup of an online anime list that still provides all the benefits of using anime tracking websites themselves such as looking up plot descriptions. One more huge thing is that you can browse anime by season within the program which is nice if you don't feel like searching online for the latest chart.

I'm not saying it's ugly.. I just saying it looks weird since the characters are making smooth movements in combination with the 3fps movements.. it just looks odd cuz it goes back and forth...

Maybe it's a budget issue? Seems most likely

Torrenting. I usually use nyaa.se as a public tracker unless it's an older release.

No idea.  If its the part I'm thinking of I think thats just the mech's preparing to sortie.  Really excited for it though because they have a lot of talented staff working on it.  I think its about a war between mars and earth after a time of peace.  Aldnoah zero and fate stay night 2014 are easily the two anime im most looking forward to this year.

heres a pic of some of the work the staff has done

and that quote (tagline? not sure if thats the word) just sounds so ****ing cool.  Reminds me of NGE a little.

Holy **** that first episode.  Confirmed hype is real.  Can't wait for next week.  The music was so good too!  All the mechas looked so awesome!

And also as far as the names go, I referenced them in my last post^^^.

I just waited for the 1080p horriblesubs even though its just upscaled 720p.  Not worth trying to take subs and put it on a RAW and having to deal with timings and all.  I assume the raw is probably similar quality anyway.

and it finished just in time for the CLG game :D.

Hmmmmmmm.........  ok.. so there's alot of potential.. assuming the budget holds...  they produce enough merchandis-able characters,   this should be a solid anime..

Yeah, I watched glasslip! Not much in the first ep, but it's definitely got scenery porn down to a tee.
awww yea. That's what I want to hear.

Visually, PA works is probably my fav. studio.

PingPong was awesome and is only one to watch among this season, no doubt.

Others? Forget! At least I forgot them completely.

which means I'll be able to watch it all day

We'll see whether or not it's a code geass copy soon enough

Although, to note, I wouldn't even classify code geass as a mecha, I watched it for the plot and Lelouch antics.

Definitly should.  I wish I could forget it all and rewatch it again.

I have a feeling aldnoah might have less mecha fights than we want and might be more talking/plotbuilding.  And I wouldn't be surprised to have characters suddenly die off.

Gotta start akame, downloaded it earlier.  Read the first 30 ish chapters and hoping its just as gruesome as the manga.
