Took car to mechanic.  Orig estimate = $375

Wait a day for part to come in, gets installed, they find something else wrong.  New Total $780.

Pay, drive car for 2 days, check engine light comes on and car is running like ass.  Back to mechanic tomorrow.

Can't change mechanics as mechanic is long time friend of inlaws.  All I can do is continue my snide remark campaign and hope we don't completely drain the bank account.

I made my life very difficult because I was dumb and didn't realize that the Teensy LC isn't the same as a teensy 2.0, so I'm having a he'll of a lot of trouble with my handwired Planck build. Also, I still don't have a backplate for the board.

"The Trump campaign announced in a letter that Republican candidates and committees are now expected to pay “a minimum of 5% of all fundraising solicitations to Trump National Committee JFC” for using his “name, image, and likeness in fundraising solicitations.”
“Any split that is higher than 5%,” the letter states, “will be seen favorably by the RNC and President Trump's campaign and is routinely reported to the highest levels of leadership within both organizations.”"

Unless you have an ancient system bad smells coming from the AC could mean a lot of different things :( bad time of the year for that to happen

i.. don't even know. my room itself is locked at all times when i'm not there, and there's no access my room except the door itself.. the ventilation is wired as well and i don't see any hole in the wire..

and my ac itself is quite high (around 2.5m from the floor), with no objects above and below it..

i guess this will remain a mystery..

Rats and mice are cute but they become un-cute when they crawl into things and die. They're the best and the worst; I bet they were Schrödinger's favorite animal :))

The pet hospitals I've been to have normal sized beds imo, but they are taller than normal hospital beds.

Did you get cat insurance ?

What if you didn't have $800,  since he's not -people-, do they just let him die.. ?

Or maybe,  they'd be like,  yea we'll take care of him for free,   but then let him die anyway, and just tell you, so sorry, he went peacefully in the night..

If you don't pay it I'm sure they just send you to a collection agency like what people hospitals do.

I'm curious now though, does it cost more money in Canada if your pet has to go to the hospital for a day or if the owner does?

doesn't cost me money to go to the hospital.

we didn't have insurance for my cat.

It's $500/per extra day he stays, and extra $ for any treatment required.

Apparently he might have kidney problems and heart disease..

Wow,  veterinarian malpractice insurance is only $200 a year for small animals.. and covers $3,000,000 in damages..

They could be really ****ty veterinarians and kill most people's pet, and it wouldn't really even matter..

Well at least you don't have to worry about yourself, but hopefully your kitty gets better.  My parent's have a cat that has kidney issues so they have to buy a special kind of cat food for him but otherwise he is just fine.

FYI, pet "insurance" still requires you to have money to pay for treatment. It isn't like regular insurance where they put the money upfront for you.

You pay. Then you get reimbursed. At least that's how how 99% of the companies I looked into were.

I mean both these bills I got combined is like $1600 and it'll cost more for complications.

I have the money for it so I don't really care I'd just like for my cat to be okay

Meanwhile UPS is holding my package hostage and left me a ****ing voicemail, and my bank needs to confirm personal information. wtf

that's how regular insurance works too..

It's only slightly different in that on regular insurance, they have a network to bill the insurance directly..

But, if you got the less wholesome insurance plans,  there's a large co-pay... like 20-100$

been kind of depressed. my hours at work have been cut by a lot, have this kidney stone, not sleeping well, and the weather has been grey and overcast for 2 months.

really trying to find the drive and energy to pull myself out of this funk, but instead I have been staying in and sleeping for the past few days. just feel tired and ****ty all the time lately.

and it just perpetuates itself when I don't do **** all day it bums me out even more and have even less drive and cares to give.

been kind of depressed. my hours at work have been cut by a lot, have this kidney stone, not sleeping well, and the weather has been grey and overcast for 2 months.

really trying to find the drive and energy to pull myself out of this funk, but instead I have been staying in and sleeping for the past few days. just feel tired and ****ty all the time lately.

and it just perpetuates itself when I don't do **** all day it bums me out even more and have even less drive and cares to give.

Keep in mind... substance use suppresses the midbrain connection to the Forebrain (prefrontal),  Which is a major contributor to lower motivation levels..

This is not a 1 day thing,  it only occurs due to chronic / extended use..

it also takes a very long time to rebalance..  upwards of 1-2 months..
