Sony PVM broadcast monitor
« on: Sun, 31 July 2016, 11:22:14 »
Recently I acquired a 14" Sony PVM monitor. I'm trying to get it set up with RGB using some component cables and RCA -> BNC adapters. It appears that it is only taking input from the green channel. The cable works, I have tested it on another television. Anybody have an idea how to fix?

So it appears the red and blue channels are working, but it is overpowered by the green channel. When I unplug either R or B those colors are completely removed, when I plug them in there are hints but it is weak.

No I just figured out that NTSC Wii's don't support RGB  :(

Trying to figure out how to change the region now...

Are you sure you don't need an active adapter for this?

Possibly because RGB is still a little different from component, is there a sync on green button on the TV somewhere?

Mind you, some PVM's simply just dont support component signals, you might need to convert the component signal into an RGB one

Source : Have PVM's and arcade monitors, I love and hate CRT's

edit- i cant read, just saw your post about the wii not supporting rgb, sounds like you've figured it out :P

So the NTSC Wii's and PAL Wii's have identical hardware but NTSC outputs S-video and PAL RGB. was gonna try to change the region but the Anyregion Changer hack is outdated and wont work on my version of system menu.

Gonna have to go SCART -> RGBS
