A barrel aged can..

How was it?

I wonder how cans would do for ageing beers?

Like Dogfish 120 in a can instead of a bottle..

hmm...

Everything I've heard about BA Ten Fiddy is that it's amazing. I'm sure it would age just as well in a can as a bottle.... but if I ever got my hands on some I doubt I'd have the patience to find out  :))

anyone use untapped ?

Added you :)

Yes, the BA Ten Fidy was excellent. It was sitting in my cellar for the last few months but since I didn't have a fresh one to compare it to, I can't tell you if a few months of aging changed the profile at all. Definitely a great beer either way. I wish I bought more than one.

Dinner with the other half.

Local microbrewery place started making their own NE style IPAs.

It was unbelievably good. Unfortunately they won't growler their in house beer since he only makes 2 kegs at a time.

its not independence brewery, it's called madpeckers.

Just finished a SMASH homebrew. 2-Row and Cascade. It's a solid beer with a good profile. I'm hoping we grow enough hops this year that I can actually enjoy more than one brewing session.

I gotta admit, homebrewing is something this community would definitely love because it to is very detail oriented.

I've never seen a can or bottle of it. So the way this is turned it makes me think it is. I live in the Northeast of the US and it's hard getting my hands on Pliny unless our local bar can smuggle it in.

Beer's vegan.

Not entirely true. Lots of breweries use animal products like isinglass, gelatin and/or lactose. I'm pretty sure the same is true with most varieties of alcohol.

Not many craft breweries use those.

I also wouldn't call it vegan, but it is most definitely vegetarian.

I brew my own beer and the ingredients are quite simple.

Lactose is really popular. I'm not sure if breweries ditched isinglass awhile back or not. Either way I acknowledge I may be splitting hairs. But any chance I get to refute tp4, you bet your ass imma be all up in that.

Not nearly a complete list with the number of micro brews around, but the options are countless.

BlueBerry IPA

Interesting, how is it?

Well I had 3 of them in a 30 min span.

It was very hoppie but the sweetness of the blueberry just balanced it very well.

at 6.8% it goes down very well too.

Made my way over to one of my local growler bars/bottle shops yesterday for a special bottle release. Walked in the door at noon when the bottles released and a few things I wanted were already sold out :( I guess I should have showed up well before noon lol.

Ended up buying 1/ea Avery Uncle Jacob's Stout, Firestone Walker Bravo & Parabola, Oskar Blues BA Ten Fidy, Prairie/Evil Twin BA Bible Belt, Prairie Pirate Noir & Prairie Noir, and 4x 16oz tallboys of Epic Double Barrel Big Bad Baptist.

The other two I wanted to get were Martin House Acheron and Community BA Legion. I thought about buying a few more things like BCBS and Deschutes Scotch Barrel Abyss but decided I spent enough money :D

Still some solid beers there though. The abyss is over rated in my opinion. I really want to try that ten fiddy though.

I got some bearded iris, trillium, alchemist, other hands, monkish, tree house, tired hands, ghost in the machine hops coming in.

As for stouts I have some Mexican cake, vanilla shake, Mexican hot chocolate, surly darkness, toppling Goliath, and I think I am missing a few.

Super excited.

Expect more pictures soon lol.

Nice.

Stouts are of course my favorite. I've had MH Acheron before, but not in cans. I've also had Community BA Legion a number of times as well and still have some bottles at home. I just wanted to get some more :D

I haven't had any of the Abyss variants although I have a bottle of the brandy barrel variant at home. I really enjoyed the BA Ten Fidy and I wish the java version came to Fort Worth.

I don't have anything super rare. Just a few things that are limited release or whatever. Trading/dealing with the secondary market seems like such a hassle so I'll just stick to what I can get my hands on locally.

I will be having a **** ton of beer reviews coming up.

First one:

Cherry Milkshake Double IPA - Whole Foods brewing

174585-0

All I got to say is wow.

So hard to describe the flavor, but they hit a home run with this. I was actually impressed with all their beers they had on tap too. I will be going to them A LOT more.

Second one:

Heady Topper - Alchemist brewing

174593-1

It lives up to the hype. A very fruit forward IPA with a really good hoppy finish.

I would trade for this again for sure.

Last one before I enjoy the beach.

Congress street - Trillium brewing

This thing right here is gewwwd. Crisp, light, fruity. Perfect for a hot summer day.

So far this beats heady for me.

I don't get out much, and am not into the really esoteric stuff, but I bought some New Belgium "Voodoo Ranger" the other day and I think that it is pretty damn good.
"The Trump campaign announced in a letter that Republican candidates and committees are now expected to pay “a minimum of 5% of all fundraising solicitations to Trump National Committee JFC” for using his “name, image, and likeness in fundraising solicitations.”
“Any split that is higher than 5%,” the letter states, “will be seen favorably by the RNC and President Trump's campaign and is routinely reported to the highest levels of leadership within both organizations.”"

Went to the Belgium Ardennes last week to do some hiking, mountain biking and spelunking... oh and drink beer. :D

Lupulus Organicus which was a pretty nice Tripel.

Brasserie de Bellevaux Blanche. Okay. I have other witbier that I prefer over this one.

La Corne du Bois des Pendus which was okay. I preferred the Orval.

Glezia a Ginger Belgian Beer! Definite hint of ginger but not too sweet.

Cherry Chouffe Rouge. It is a fruit beer but not as sweet as regular kriek. Not bad.

Gueuze Lambic by Mort Subite. I love the slightly sour taste of Lambic beers. Bought a six-pack at the local supermarket to bring back home.

Orval. Wouldn't have guessed this to be a pale ale. Nice beer though.

La Chouffe. Always a classic.

And I love that the supermarkets over there have all these beers just right there.
