**** it. i'll be getting a private health insurance anyway.

Are you serious?
my employer will pay for it.

Well that's a good reason for getting it. Not that the NHS is terrible, but the waiting times for normal procedures are ridiculous.

Finally overclocked my home rig last night. 4.6Ghz was my best clock/vcore ratio at only ~ 10 degree difference under load.

I'll accept it!

To achieve a stable(ish) 4.7, vCore had to be a minimum of 1.4 which ran a bit hot for my liking :/ .   I did not fare too well on the chip lotto this time

that's weird.. it shouldn't need so much.. check that you got all the efficiency stuff disabled and put ram to stock for now..  and lower uncore to 32 while ur pushing core.

it has a window... but it just has a bad vibe to me... like i won't get as much accomplished in there as i would at my old desk...

plus it has better lighting, which i dislike... i prefer dimly lit work spaces; makes it easier for me to concentrate...

and the lights aren't controlled per office, so i can't change the lighting situation unless i remove the bulbs...

they gave it to me specifically because they didn't want to give it to the other IT guy, who wanted to become my boss (but they didn't much care for that idea).

but, we are looking into moving the entire IT Helpdesk area to another part of the office, so it might only be temporary...

At a retro game expo...

Playing some vintage computer games for the first time. Jungle Hunt on the Apple II Plus. Keyboard is linear. Short throw. Pretty smooth. Alligators are *******s.

Centipede on an atari 800. This ****ing profile is legendary. Sphericals. Thick. Linear switches but they're light with a cushiony bottom out.

Keyboard spotting: TRS80. Feels like MY =(

TI99/4A. The graphics are kinda weird but this game is fire. Alpiner. The voice made me laugh so much. Keyboard layout isn't bad. Switches are linear, short throw, kinda mushy. Not even 2KRO.

Atari 600 XL. The switches felt kinda like clears. Cushiony bottom out. But they're almost as light as Reds. And ULTRA short throw. Ms. Pac man is weird.

**** thunderstorms. Killing my lemonade Hustle. Apple IIGS with M0487. Rubber dome but they're on par with my DT35.

Commodore 64. Awful keyboards. Feels too light compared to the look. Mushy...too bouncy. Linear though. Caps seem ok. This Jupiter Lander game is fun though. And the Atari like controller is fun.

Panasonic MSX2. Amazing color scheme. Orange on black with orange on Dolch gray alphas. Had this goofy arrow setup too. Switches felt like a refined Commodore 64 board. It was OK. The game was some form of Castlevania which was super fun though. Not even 2KRO.

Oh hey. This is what retro DSA was based on right? Amstrad CPC464. DSA but more spherical. The switches are linear but actuate more on the bottom of the cap then on the top. Like a typewriter almost. A touch mushy but not bad. Amazing color scheme.

Good news is we made it. Bad news?

RIP YoungMike88. I'm sorry I forded a river that was too deep. Apple IIe with the best keyboard of the day. Linear. A bit short but extremely smooth. Light too.

Atari 1200. Along with the Commodore, this is at the bottom of the pile. It's almost like there's no bottom out. Just land in a pile of butter. Ew. Mushy, no feedback at all.

The switches on the TI are probably either Stackpole or Futaba. TI used no less than four suppliers for the keyboards in those 99/4A's. If you can find an Alps made keyboard, the tee Alps aren't bad at all.

My favorite boards so far are the ones on the Atari 800 and Apple II Plus

Today I played Everlasting Summer (a free visual novel on steam) for three hours.  I planned on playing through just kinda casually the first go, but then I started liking this one character....and then I just got the bad ending. :(

Road tripped from MN down to chicago with a few bros. Pretty solid day.

Hope you waved at me!  :D

RIP YoungMike88. I'm sorry I forced a river that was too deep.

RIP YoungMichael88   :'(   Sorry CPTBadAss was a regular Ass and had you killed.  :(

Apple IIe with the best keyboard of the day. Linear. A bit short but extremely smooth. Light too.

I used an Apple IIe in 7th grade for awhile, playing around with programming in Basic.  My first experience with programming.  :)  I like that computer!

Today was my first time playing with an Apple IIe. It was a lot of fun. Really need to get a hold of a good vintage setup.

Also this can happen and I want it so bad.

Zenith monitor. I think the one from the system with the board the complicated linear green Alps are from. ZKB2? Anyways, NES on those old monitors? SQUEEE

I did.  :p

But we took 94 all the way so I didn't end up anywhere near you.  :(
People in the 1980s, in general, were clearly just better than we are now in every measurable way.

The dumber the reason the more it must be done

Finished porting over my Last.fm playlists to a Tumblr account, this took WAY too much effort but it's good to have for the sake of historical record I guess...

Original link of playlists;
http://www.last.fm/user/bald_gye/library/playlists

New Tumblr (updated artwork);
http://gye20xx.tumblr.com/

Will be updating it with The Best Of 2014 at some point, just gotta sort it out so I can post it... which I guess involves typing it all out QQ...

If anyone here is into electro, techo, house or dance music of any kind its worth checking out some of those lists to see if you missed any tracks!
