I'm sorry. I'm not understanding. You can't use the DT35? YOU GAVE A PRESENTATION ON IT BRUH

Is this the cheap Korean rubber dome that is amazing for star craft?  :))

it's not amazing for Starcraft..

It's testament to the fact that  the skill of the player is far more influential than the keyboard he's using..

Which is why gaming keyboard is totally Bull ****.. marketing.

but I thought cherry mx red was 4 g4mers

But 72.5 hours on my check this week.  And I still have two more 12 hour days left.

Spent about an hour searching for a specific roll of tape only to remember that I used it all up the other day.

Triple backed up everything on my Mac (slightly paranoid, based on previous experiences backing everything up to tape, TWICE, verifying both tapes, reinstalling, and then discovering that neither tape was readable).

Dismantled the Mac (Mac mini - the model you need a putty knife to get in to).

Replaced the HDD (not with SSD before you ask, too expensive and I still had the 1TB HDD I bought for this project a couple of years ago).

Put it mostly back together, hampered only slightly by the WiFi antenna lead that fell off and was enjoying its few moments of freedom too much to clip back on.

Booted from an alleged Mavericks install USB stick, which actually worked!

Mild panic when no HDD showed up, and patted myself on the back for not sealing the Mac up yet.  Did a quick search and found that I needed to format the HDD first which, after having been done, showed the drive on the list.

Installed Mavericks, went through all the setups for a newly installed OS, and currently installing updates.

This Mac mini is supported under Yosemite, but reports on the interwebs indicate that this old Mac struggles with Yosemite, so I decided to stick with Mavericks.  Apparently El Capitan is supported too, but I'd prefer to wait for the first update and reports of performance on this model before taking that leap.

Ahead is still all the apps to install, and all the data to restore.

Yeah, he outlined that in a previous post.  Some hours are regular, some overtime, some double.  That'll be one fat check.  :))

Yeah, the 15 hours on Sunday was all double time, then just the first 8 hours during the week.is straight time.  All day Saturday is time and a half.  Plus I am getting per diem.

Finished out a 94 hour week with a 9 hour day.

Edit, fixed the hours.  Apparently 85+9 is 94, not 96

Damn dude. I'm on a 72 hour week this week, same as every month, but I don't get any overtime for it.

a 96 hour week though, jesus. Your work is pretty physical as well isn't it?

Daaaaaaayum. That sounds really kickass. The one I did was some horror themed hospital stuff. Apparently we had the code to get out about 25 minutes in, but there were so many 4 digit codes in the game, we didn't know it was the right one :(

Thanks mate.  This spot could be one of a few things, but the doctor doesn't think it's anything particularly threatening, but wants to get it checked just in case.

(...)Whereas back then I wrote about the tyranny of the majority, today I'd combine that with the tyranny of the minorities. These days, you have to be careful of both. They both want to control you. The first group, by making you do the same thing over and over again. The second group is indicated by the letters I get from the Vassar girls who want me to put more women's lib in The Martian Chronicles, or from blacks who want more black people in Dandelion Wine.
I say to both bunches, Whether you're a majority or minority, bug off! To hell with anybody who wants to tell me what to write. Their society breaks down into subsections of minorities who then, in effect, burn books by banning them. All this political correctness that's rampant on campuses is b.s.

I have worked over in that area.  Don't remember what plant.  Was either a Cargil, or some sort of ethanol plant.

I'm in Russia AGAIN. It's just the wind, it blows me here. Shouldn't have lost weight.

I've been there for roughly 72 hours, but have done a lot. Restored my driving licence which I shamefully lost in a park. Got custom made orthopaedic soles. Brought a bunch of British cheeses to a friend who loves them. Closed my Citibank account, may they be damned forever. Drank in the forest at night when it was -2°. Visited parents. Spent a whole day barbecuing with friends. Bought some medical stuff which isn't sold in the UK. Bought a T-shirt with Putin's portrait and "hello from Crimea" headline.
It seems I am entering the third phase of expat's life, the homesickness.

Just left the venue, saw Florence and the Machine. That woman's voice is pretty incredible live.

Hit a deer at 75 mph on the way to work this morning.  Kept right on going, like nothing happened.

LOL, it was already dead in the road before I got to it.  I think I just rolled over its neck/shoulder area.  All it did to the car was take a piece off the inside of the inside of the wheel well, and left a tuft of fun between the rim and the tire.
