Did some machining today, alps clueboard case + some 60% plates.
pics inside

More
so,

working out toolpaths.

cutting, you can see my previously cut out atreus pieces.

and the cuts, not finished yet I am just going to brush them down with a few scotch brites to get rid of the burrs. stuff I made was a hhkb 60% plate, AEKII plate and the clueboard case, all out of ~1.2mm alu, all turned out pretty clean. note: the hhkb plate looks pretty bad because its the bottom and the waterjet cutter does these sorta sandblasted marks on the bottom of the pieces.

mockup of all the clueboard pieces before I machine the middle pieces out of wood.

I've just been cleaning and playing with my Model M all day. Absolutely love it. Buckling springs are my favorite clicky switch now, though I've only tried White SKCM ALPS and MX Blues.

I'm thinking of getting an SSK model for extra mouse room and buying an ergonomic gameboard like the Razer Tartarus.

Well today i misplaced the only VGA cable i kept while moving, so i'm going to go to wall mart and pay a stupid amount of money for one because my file-servers motherboard only has VGA output and i need access to the acctual machine to rebuild my RAID array.

I was frugal today. I went grocery shopping and bought enough food to feed a small village and only spent $130. Even the checkout lady was impressed. Now I can spend more money on caps and boards  :thumb:

Today was surprise gym day.  Surprise in that apparently I'll be nowhere near a gym Thu-Sat and need to squat on four separate days this week.  Right, Sunday-Wednesday squat sessions, it is!  Though I'm really supposed to be doing 5 per week but I'm going light for now to get used to it.

Pretty pleased, though.  Hit 370, 390, 405, and 415lb singles as planned.  Now to just repeat it tomorrow.... and Tuesday and Wednesday.

Is this a bad time to tell you this was my second time seeing them? 🙈  Also saw Roger solo awhile back.  :)

And I'm with you on Zeppelin.  ;)  Don't think that'll ever happen, but I've seen Plant a couple times so I can at least die happy.

What are you doing over there man?? Go see them!  :D  They must tour over there just as frequently.

I wouldn't get a 950 at this point

Because xpoint is coming out soonish..

Do you have an SSD you can just hold out on until xpoint ?

it's definitly good to see what's up with xpoint, before paying the premium for the 950

Because the 950 isn't actually faster than any of the newer ssds except in benchmarks.

Good point. I've got a 120GB Force GT SSD currently, so I think I'll hold onto that for now.

Thanks for the heads up tp!

EDIT: Amazon won't let me cancel  :( I guess I'll just ship it back when it gets here.

Oh those pensioners. The greatest British band of all time is The Prodigy!
(...)Whereas back then I wrote about the tyranny of the majority, today I'd combine that with the tyranny of the minorities. These days, you have to be careful of both. They both want to control you. The first group, by making you do the same thing over and over again. The second group is indicated by the letters I get from the Vassar girls who want me to put more women's lib in The Martian Chronicles, or from blacks who want more black people in Dandelion Wine.
I say to both bunches, Whether you're a majority or minority, bug off! To hell with anybody who wants to tell me what to write. Their society breaks down into subsections of minorities who then, in effect, burn books by banning them. All this political correctness that's rampant on campuses is b.s.

Killing it at the go kart track OuO

They let you in then?
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

You need to make those wires look nicer.. what's the point of braided cables if they're all scrunchy like that ...

Agreed. A $2 chip clip will give you what you're looking for.

If he's talking about what I'm thinking about (those big ass clips literally for chip bags), that seems like a weird fix. Cable combs are the way to go
