You need to make those wires look nicer.. what's the point of braided cables if they're all scrunchy like that ...

Agreed. A $2 chip clip will give you what you're looking for.

chip clip ?

I've heard of cable comb..  not chip clip though..  how does the chip clip work.

If he's talking about what I'm thinking about (those big ass clips literally for chip bags), that seems like a weird fix. Cable combs are the way to go

I have small clear ones that I use. Not like those huge ones. I was just thinking of stuff laying around my house

Yesterday, but ordered a new PC for work.

Latest 27" iMac with most of the specs bumped up.

I was surprised it was approved so readily.

Actually mere surprise was not adequate, and I was forced to resort to astonishment.
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

It's not that the cowboys' bodies were used to their saddles. It's that a leather saddle gets used to a cowboy's body and shapes to it with time.
(...)Whereas back then I wrote about the tyranny of the majority, today I'd combine that with the tyranny of the minorities. These days, you have to be careful of both. They both want to control you. The first group, by making you do the same thing over and over again. The second group is indicated by the letters I get from the Vassar girls who want me to put more women's lib in The Martian Chronicles, or from blacks who want more black people in Dandelion Wine.
I say to both bunches, Whether you're a majority or minority, bug off! To hell with anybody who wants to tell me what to write. Their society breaks down into subsections of minorities who then, in effect, burn books by banning them. All this political correctness that's rampant on campuses is b.s.

Are you alluding to having experienced the discomfort of sitting in someone else's saddle today?

Didn't do it today, but the kids and I spent the long weekend at the Big Ears music festival in Knoxville, Tennessee.

It was excellent but the kids couldn't hold up for the late-night stuff, which would have also been great.
"The Trump campaign announced in a letter that Republican candidates and committees are now expected to pay “a minimum of 5% of all fundraising solicitations to Trump National Committee JFC” for using his “name, image, and likeness in fundraising solicitations.”
“Any split that is higher than 5%,” the letter states, “will be seen favorably by the RNC and President Trump's campaign and is routinely reported to the highest levels of leadership within both organizations.”"

I don't understand why people feel the need to even mention that it's overrated. Who cares? They're still damn tasty burgers, why does it matter if people think they're #1 vs #5 (or whatever)?  #5 burger is still ****ing delicious and no one in their right mind would complain about eating one. So what gives?

But yeah, their fries are awesome no matter what.  :D

Tp4 prefer Burger King..

Their burgers?  A tad overrated and overpriced but still good burgers.
Their fries?  Best fries IMO, especially with vinegar.

I'll actually agree with tp by saying that overhyping can ruin an experience that otherwise might have been good or detract from how good it is.  Case in point: I went to see 'Avatar' in theaters because everyone said it was literally, the best movie ever made OF ALL TIME, but when I watched it the overhyping of it kind of ruined the movie for me.  Was it good or even great?  Sure it was pretty cool, but what I was expecting vs. what I saw resulted in what would've been a great experience if I had went in not knowing anything about it turn into somewhat of a disappointment.

Generally, this is by no fault of the product itself that is being deemed overrated, but rather people who just won't shut the **** up about it.

I totally agree with you there.

I'm going to be pedantic and separate hyping from rating, and in that case I think we're on the same page with overhyping and I still stand by my statement about something being overrated.  :)  If we both have evaluated something (which must be the case in this example) and I disagree with your rating, what is gained from pointing that out?

I love the word "pedantic". I once used it conversationally with my boss who was completely confused by it. I had to tell him what it meant.  :))

This afternoon I spent mostly listening to music. As a result I am happier then I have been in a long time. I would actually prefer to stay in my current location and continue to do so then go home. Tuesdays. Blah.

Because you're giving an unfair, emotional, and nonobjective rating..

That process is detrimental to society. It enervates the active motivation of the client party, shifting an unreasonable amount of resources.

You're creating a fad,  and all fads in retrospect are wasteful.

Yeah, I generally lump the two together because they often end up very similar, but I can certainly see the case for separating them.  The only reason I can think of is that if I rate something very highly and you rate it lower, maybe I am trying to "save" you in my eyes from your decision, which I might see as an error.  My friend did this with the movie 'Memento' because the first time I watched it I was kinda drunk and kinda high so I didn't follow it and thought it was pretty dumb and I guess overrated, but he had seen it many times before so he pushed me to watch it a couple more times and when I did, I agreed more with his rating than my initial one.

That's all I've got!  :p
