I had some microwave pork rinds.

??

what does the microwave do to dry porkrinds ?

Makes them awesome.

I haven't seen microwaveable pork rinds since I was on the ship in the Navy.

Does it pop like popcorn ?

I am not understanding how porkrinds work.

I thought porkrinds had to be fried in really hot oil to get the puffy texture....

Ran a virus scan from the terminal today. I felt like a superhero as I watched the file names cascade down my monitor--then I felt like a ninny when I realized that I could have commented out basically everything from the log file. I ran the scan again omitting everything but found infections. I really didn't feel like sifting through a 43mb log file. Turns out I had a Trojan in a DOS game. Lots of false positives but I love knowing what they are and why they register as a false positive. I'm still practicing but I think my Linux-ing is improving a bit

Went to see a production of the Nutcracker with me ol' lady. Wound up being a contender for the worst one in the history of the performance. Worth it.

Actually, some of the false positives were because of my ad blocker's 3rd party malware website list. My email spam filter also caused a few false positives because of a 3rd party phishing list. But the real deal was from X-COM: UFO Defense (1994). It contained Win.Trojan.Agent-187981.

Besides, how many Malware developers write Malware for Linux? tp probably knows a few Linux Malware developers--so he says don't do it because most people don't like it when other people tell them what to do.

I helped collect money for a charity at a sci-fi convention.
Freaked out a guest at the con: Amanda Tapping (Carter in Stargate SG1) with a story about an old friend who liked her show, and died suddenly many years ago. I am not sure that I did right for him either.
I saw several people get a hug from her - I didn't...

I put together a list of parts that I think will make a pretty sick build for the inside of my Dolch PAC build.

I have two in my closet begging to be gutted and modded. Can we talk about this more?  Would love to hear some ideas on mounting, power supply, etc.

Me and Pexon are going to make it work. I'm using a laptop screen with a converter that I'm going to buy off a seller in China on eBay. Going for mATX form factor, fanless PSU, but I think there is going to be quite a lot of cutting and drilling. There's only one 80mm case fan slot from what I can remember, so I'm just going to go with that. Might then try to dremel through the ridges that there are that run around the case. Just cut in the trench bits to make a barely visible second fan for an exhaust fan.

None of the ports will be visible from the outside of the case, I don't know how I'm going to block off the bits left by the previous display cards, but I will figure something out. I might mount a USB hub to the outside to add extra peripherals like microphones/mice. The one I have that's a bit worse for wear will have the back cut out so I can put some Perspex in there, get the inside lit up with cathode tubes for a less harsh look than LEDs.

The execution is still a lot up in the air right now but we will get  there eventually. The parts are the most important I think, it's just getting together with Pexon and discussing what we can do and bounce ideas off each other.

Bought two calendars for the garage from a British photographer.  First one is nude pinups with minimal actual nudity, the second is military pinups.

If anyone is curious the photographer is Dollhouse Photography, NSFW warning, so not posting a link.

Put on some new brake levers and bar tape.

Then took it all off again because I needed to shorten the cable and accidentally messed up the inner cable. Need to order a replacement.

Also put on a new coat rack.

Sorry dude, not been on for a while and only just saw this.

We haven't yet, I've not bought any parts for it as of yet so I've not documented much, but we will definitely get something going when I start sourcing bits and pieces.

I have been MIA from the forums for, hell I don't even know, far too long.  Life, renos, funds, my keyboard hobby has been taking a back seat.  But, I have been thinking about you guys and I have been working on stuff for you when I have the time.

Anyway on topic, I finally launched the Custom Polygons feature on builder.swillkb.com today.  It has been in dev for like 4 months in what little spare time I have had.  My wife has been kind enough let me work on it for a few days this holiday to finally get everything wrapped up and pretty much polished.

Happy Holidays everyone.  I hope these holidays find you well.  I will probably be around a bit more over the next few weeks, so hopefully I can catch up with a few people.  :)

Here is a little builder porn for you guys...

started my last day of work of this year... now to 3 days off before the whole thing starts over for another year :P

after work's done I'll pick up my new PC case so I can finally fit in the new GPU I bought and misscalculated it's size (it doesn't fit into my prodigy mITX case)   :))

that's the biggest shrimp I've ever seen!

From left to right, 10 pound whole pork loin, 12 pound turkey, giblets and neck.

smoked hearts are amazing as well, almost like smoked bubble gum.  Can't stand the liver though, I give that stuff to friends.  Not a fan of the neck either.  Good meat, but more of a PITA to get to than crab.

Yesterday I spent all day in bed, partly recovering from my birthday.

Today I am at work. :(
Can we get them to build the Alps ten feet higher and get Cherry to pay for it?
