And what about NY congressman "George Santos" ?
« on: Tue, 27 December 2022, 11:23:10 »
This guy is clearly a Bozo, but really, even if there is no background clearance system whatsoever in the election process, wouldn't (shouldn't? couldn't?) a national body want to preserve some shred of legitimacy for itself?

"Cohen has been described as a “fixer,” a guy who gets things done, who cleans up messes and who calms the waters in a crisis. But mostly, it seems that Cohen was a lackey.
He wasn’t someone telling Trump hard truths to make sure that he was protected. Cohen was the guy who simply wanted to make sure that Trump was placated. He wanted the boss to be happy. Cohen wasn’t using his clout or connections to turn the tide in Trump’s favor.
He was just another person whose ambitions and self-worth had become intertwined with Trump, someone who as federal investigators closed in on him, as he lied and then lied some more, he had to be reminded by his wife, his daughter and his son that Trump was neither his salvation, nor was he someone worth saving." 2024-05-14 comment

Even a right-wing rag like Newsmax reports on his crap:

https://www.newsmax.com/newsfront/george-santos-brazil-fraud/2023/01/03/id/1102803/?ns_mail_uid=753fe9a6-cfaf-41bb-bc96-51d0d2ab29ae&ns_mail_job=DM417945_01032023&s=acs&dkt_nbr=010102eqdybq

But Kevin McCarthy is such a spineless twit that he continues to ignore it. I guess that Republicans don't worry about any depth to which they sink.

Somehow it gets worse, he is now getting charged for 7 counts of wire fraud, 3 counts of money laundering, 1 count of theft of public funds and 2 counts of making materially false statements to the house of representatives.

Honestly Santos should go to prison, and despite him being a liar, a conman and definitely not having the interests of the people, he was such a character to the point where it will be kinda sad not seeing him blatantly lie about dumb things and getting caught doing the exact opposite of what he campaigns for, it was really funny.

Somehow it gets worse

false statements

That is trivial, several orders of magnitude less than what Trump has done.

But now he is famous and will get plenty of d!ck in prison.

I mean yeah George Santos lies isn't a rare statement in the slightest but I don't know what he was thinking lying to congress, and yeah trump has done a lost worse but that's because he had more power, like if santos was president he would have been the same.
