So, Tp4 am watchn' dat Stargate.

An all over the show, they got them Inspiron XPS 9300 and M1710 in every other scene.

Just checked ebay prices, 2 xpensive, but highly compelled.

Most of the time I only notice when it's a Surface blatantly in your face.
Nope, not a chance.

Actually, I would love to experiment with a Surface RT, but MS killed that idea.

I remember growing up and loving seeing computers in shows more and more, and then I got into IT and started to recognize, at first the brands, then the models.

At times it's a strange distraction for me, not that it pushes me one way or another on buying computers, as I've got a pretty comprehensive set of beliefs in what to buy and when.

But it's interesting to see the product placements, and to envision what some of these worlds and stories have as their most common computer. (Every scene has a Toshiba? Even the companies? What a world to live in! Hope they don't have to repair them that often.)

Sports commentators are paid to use them.
While they seem to give them to anyone in tv/movies who sticks a hand out, Microsoft aggressively targeted news and sports programming.

I keep looking at the 9300 on ebay.. it's soooo not usable for modern tasks, buh, I can't help looking.

The screens are prolly all pretty shot, not even sure if they're led, may be ccfl.

I had a 9300 for a long time, bought the extended warranty and eventually got an L702x to replace it.
