Ditto.  Always had cassettes in my life, and they fueled my road trip soundtracks for years.  Probably my biggest sadness of buying a new car was saying goodbye to the cassette deck.  :(

I think it's pretty funny that I can go out for the night and drink only beers and be hung over as **** in the morning, unable to do much of anything, stomach churning, head pounding etc etc... But if I go out for a night and drink wine and cocktails I'm totally fine in the morning and just have a bit of a headache lol

I'm also so very glad your precious save files are safe and carried over T__T... I wish I had done the same.

*sigh* We all know how precious important game save files are... especially if you've poured in 100+ hours :'(

Girls in Saint Petersburg dress like goddesses
(...)Whereas back then I wrote about the tyranny of the majority, today I'd combine that with the tyranny of the minorities. These days, you have to be careful of both. They both want to control you. The first group, by making you do the same thing over and over again. The second group is indicated by the letters I get from the Vassar girls who want me to put more women's lib in The Martian Chronicles, or from blacks who want more black people in Dandelion Wine.
I say to both bunches, Whether you're a majority or minority, bug off! To hell with anybody who wants to tell me what to write. Their society breaks down into subsections of minorities who then, in effect, burn books by banning them. All this political correctness that's rampant on campuses is b.s.

"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

I was driving home from work (1 hour commute each way) and I got in a mood. I turned the music up crazy loud and drove probably a little too fast. Most days the drive home is terrible, I just want to get out of the car. But on the days when I need it, it is super cathartic to listen to loud, raucous music without a care in the world.

Soundtrack:
No Use for a Name
The Lawrence Arms
The Loved Ones

Music makes me happy.  :)

Being able to walk normally again, after spending much of the last two weeks hobbling around at half speed hunched over due to a bad back.

I hit some clay birds with a shotgun, pew pew. Call me hawkeye halverson

My dad used to have an old pistol that shot 4.10 shotgun shells. Kicked like a ____ but was fun as all get out. Used to throw cans up in the air and shoot em.
I'm back.

and drink only beers and be hung over as **** in the morning,

Although I can't/don't drink nearly as much as I could/would when I was younger (eg - half my current age - in 1983, or 1/3 my current age - in 1973) I would still have trouble drinking enough (volume of) beer to be that bad off.

On the other hand, hard liquor will do me in. Even red wine, which I enjoy in the moment, kicks my ass on the other side.

And, smoking dope, which I enjoyed enormously when I used to do it semi-regularly, just doesn't give me that much pleasure any more.

Take my advice, don't get old!

Wait, damn, wrong thread. What part of this is supposed to make me happy?

This, I suppose, is about all I have left:

"The Trump campaign announced in a letter that Republican candidates and committees are now expected to pay “a minimum of 5% of all fundraising solicitations to Trump National Committee JFC” for using his “name, image, and likeness in fundraising solicitations.”
“Any split that is higher than 5%,” the letter states, “will be seen favorably by the RNC and President Trump's campaign and is routinely reported to the highest levels of leadership within both organizations.”"

After nearly two years of mechanical keyboards and an amount of money I don't want to think about, my typing has improved slightly
