I'm not pro-Russia but Asad is clearly the only one you could back with any hope of Syria being a country people could live in within the next 50-60 years...

It warms my heart to see all these countries walking past the "line in the sand".

My sister got engaged last night.  ;D
Hey congrats! When is your turn? (I expect many of your relatives might ask you similar questions during the engagement party, no? )

Sometime after I trick a woman into dating me long enough, I suppose.

Unless the post office messed something up, three packages just arrived for me in the space of about 30 minutes.  :cool:

Got uni for another 6 hours before I can pick them up though :(

"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

His name is Katushkin or something? idk I just shorten it to Katty as it's easier to remember and spell, I know his real name but figured he might not want it out there and it's also not super meaningful anyway lol

This K State TCU game is scary though.  K State is showing that they can be a tough team to play.  One of the few Big XII teams that knows defense.

In Russia:

* pilot's banter on arrival

* speed and precision. I got an appointment to the Traffic Inspection at 12:43-12:53. The appointment card advised to come at 12:38. I got served at 12:41. Got a new driving licence in 38 minutes.

* good and dirt cheap hotels

* BEER!!!
(...)Whereas back then I wrote about the tyranny of the majority, today I'd combine that with the tyranny of the minorities. These days, you have to be careful of both. They both want to control you. The first group, by making you do the same thing over and over again. The second group is indicated by the letters I get from the Vassar girls who want me to put more women's lib in The Martian Chronicles, or from blacks who want more black people in Dandelion Wine.
I say to both bunches, Whether you're a majority or minority, bug off! To hell with anybody who wants to tell me what to write. Their society breaks down into subsections of minorities who then, in effect, burn books by banning them. All this political correctness that's rampant on campuses is b.s.

Recently:

It's only 11 weeks until my big trip overseas.

I got instant approval for a new credit card.

I threatened legal action and it got results.

I'm apparently adulting well. But I don't like adulting.

I feel you on this big time.  I still feel like a kid inside, and some of the really grown up things I do on the outside shock my inner kid.

Wait until you start aging.  That makes adulting seem fun by comparison.
