Just got a notice in the mail that AT&T now offers fiber in my neighborhood.

But I get a "community" discount if I stay with Comcast since the association has some deal with them.

Fiber would be nice tho

Most of these upload speeds are faster than my download speed :(
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

What makes me angry,  is that most torrent files are now too small to reach my peak bandwidth before completely downloading.

So , everytime I torrent something,  it's like.. ---- this isn't even my final form.---

You can all Thank TURDBALL for that, delivering well over $80 Billion dollar network that's still using corroded copper, a first for brain-dead Morons during 2017 and beyond  :)) .

Every time someone mentions the NBN I will literally crawl through any data stream and once I'm there in the room with that ignorant tosser who mentioned the NBN, I shall beat them to death with my broken spanner then shove it right up their Liberal voting arse, until they start bleeding out of their nasal cavities.

Don't ever mention that deceitful word here on Geekhack Central........... it's completely nasty and supremely ignorant and I am truly embarrassed for being born here  >:D .

Yeah funny how they keep referring to themselves as Australia's Greatest Economic Mangers of the Twentieth Century, complete with last century's technology  >:( .

Someone should of told them the today's date instead, but alas the LNP morons keep ignoring that fact daily as they keep on worshiping and reenacting Anzacs and WW2 win.

I still remember it but it comes a time where we have to start planning for the future instead of always reliving the past.  I'm jealous of our Yank friends who have a functioning communications system, that we could only dream about.  Let alone other countries that are at least 50 to 100 years ahead of us in nearly everything.

If you want to know what's it's like living in the third world filled with Whitey's everywhere, then come on down to Convict Town a place still living in the past and bloody proud of it  :thumb: .

Agreed. My internet is so awful that it literally crashes whenever I try to backup to Google Drive or stream to twitch. What's even worse is that over there in Riverton everyone has 10-11mbps internet, but a couple of suburbs away in Parkwood, we only get a max of 0.4, 0.5 if we're lucky.

No, govt just done goofed the upgrade. Half assed it in many areas and rollout taking way too long.

Is the more --Typical-- Australian outside of the --digital Warriors-- of geekhack,  thinking,  why would you need internet, when I got all these big grassy fields, good weather,  and all the kangaroo steak i could eat...

I could imagine if people are doing all the outdoor stuff,  they might not prioritize the Hermit style life of Tp4...

No, govt just done goofed the upgrade. Half assed it in many areas and rollout taking way too long.

Australia has pleanty of basement dwellers (just without the actual basement). We generally don't have houses with basements

why does everyone assssume tp4 lives in the basement..  hahahahahahha

Tp4 is mostly on the second floor..  Attic is insulated but still too hot for summer.. basement is for the louder cutting machines..

I thought you were living above a garage.

And NBN is still not available for me at home or at work, and work is in the Melbourne CBD!
