Sliding Miter Saw Blade Deflection..
« on: Tue, 27 November 2018, 09:45:20 »
People on the internet are freakn' stupid..

Of course sliding saws are going to wiggle,  the whole arm mechanism is over 2 feet long.

If you wanted something that long, completely rigid, you'd need another 50lbs of metal..  Which on these saws would make them too heavy to lug around/lift

This is the equivalent to nonsense people complaining about space bar wobble..

That’s quite a bit of play. Even my mastercraft compound mitre saw doesn’t have that much play when fully extended. But if I want to make a cross cut any wider than say 10” I would just use a cross cut sled on a my table saw.

They don't deflect that much on a cut, that's just the amount of play if one applied lateral force..
