Although my comp is more than capable of running Win 11, my processor is on the banned list

And yet my system still keeps running Win11 compatibility checks when I am in the middle of doing something, as if checking it for the 400th time and tying up resources, anything at all has changed in my system. Then it attempts to run Update and fails because I don't meet the system requirements it has already checked for every day for the last year. It is like a hell loop of retardation my computer is stuck in. No way to disable it or turn it off, as long as I am connected to the internet the settings will inevitably turn it back on.

Honestly it is kind of a sly way to income shame people who cannot afford new hardware. Actively making your Windows experience more frustrating, while reminding you that you lack the means to meet their completely arbitrary hardware requirements. I wonder if I can sue MS over the mental anguish the Win 11 rollout is causing me.

Almost 5 years ago I decided to deny M$ my essence and moved to Linux Mint.

No regrets.

They've already forced it on people with fake updates and messaging and at this point most casuals already have it if they have a compatible system so at this point, I wouldn't expect another shady mass attempt to force it, but I've been wrong before.

The thing that will end up forcing you is 3rd party companies.
They hate having to multiple operating systems, even when it's the same software/driver, it costs more to test and support. All it really would require is Google to drop Chrome support and you'd see a lines out the door at Best Buy they next morning.

Oddly enough, my new system offered it when I first put Windows on it despite TPM 2.0 and secure boot both disabled. However, after a reload and enabling TPM 2.0, it doesn't seem to try forcing itself despite even trying to force it. When I don't want it they try and force it and when I do they don't. Go figure.

OMG, the start menu button doesn't activate if you corner the mouse, it's slightly before the corner.

THIS IS SO DUMB.  Jesus christ, they've lost their god damn mind.

Forgot I redid my bios and disabled tpm 2.0 when i updated my EFI, it's not in the advanced options, only the basic options. WHY?

Once re-enabled Win11 was offered, however, I just can't bring myself to do it yet.
While Win10 played nice with how I dual boot, I couldn't get Win11 to do it and I'm worried it will wipe out my partition layout. It's installed similar to how it works on an EMMC drive rather than hard disk/ssd. This keeps it from messing with my partitions and boot system.

It can with workarounds, Tp4 had win11 on his 4790k. You can tell it's not as snappy in games because all the updated hackr' intel-attack mitigations really cripple the earlier cpus.

How does this tpm thing even work, they don't give you the little breakout board. Who actually spends extra money on this.

Last night I completely removed TrustedInstaller from my security groups replacing it with Administrators, and my computer has not run this smooth in probably 7 years.

It is eye opening to see how much spyware MS gets away with running behind your back under the guise of "security"

I read that we can pay MS $30 to extend the lifespan of Windows 10 for one more year i.e. will get security updates. Maybe, this is a good middle ground.

Simple answer, it's a hardware encryption chip/key storage.
Windows Hello and Bitlocker use it.

Major issues will get ignored and they get to decide which is major.
Given their history, I consider this as just wasted money. Install an alternative A/V, cross your fingers and just accept what comes, you will be just as safe as spending that $30.

It runs w11 fine - ran win 11 on unsupported since it was available on a test machine that I let my son and his friends use.  Also run supported with a local account, bitlocker perma-disabled, and run the Recall disable script every time there is any update for w11 - my 10th and 11th gen Intel machines run fine w/ zero issues (my x99 setup's mobo decided to take itself out last year).

Using Windows 11 is humiliating. With its incessant notifications, forced updates, requirements to log in again and again for everything, Microsoft is constantly telling you "WE PWN YOU!!".

there is a script to run so it will bypass the check for network so you can create a local account on setup.

Oh, well in that regard, if you're worried about the computer OS owning you. We need to talk about how Capitalism has 100% dehumanized who/what you are into a fungible-token that we know today as -Money.

Let's stare at a computer screen all day, spend 99% of your BEST HOURS working for an impersonal/careless killing machine that is a Corporation. Hours that you can not buy back with any-amount-of-Money.

Remember the machine does not care, Corporations are granted person-hood and carry fiduciary responsibility to maximize share holder profits, means really, that it's an Obligate Sociopath. It is NOT ALLOWED to empathize / care. It is a Monster which turns blood into plastic waste as it poisons the air and kills the planet.

My system keeps taking unneeded updates to prep for Win 11, but my system keeps also telling me I don't meet the hardware requirements for Win 11.

SO THEN STOP TAKING THESE UPDATES AND TELLING ME ABOUT IT!
