The highlight out of all that is being married to Aubrey Plaza!
depression doesn't **** around, and it never goes away. All you can do is distract yourself for as long as possible.

Robin Williams

One of the greatest comedians of my generation.
He burned too bright and too fast.

Probably to get the insurance payout as the area is done.

If you keep the house in a barren wasteland, what good is it.

So you pay a bunch of riff raffs to go in and burn your house down, take the insurance and run.

At least this is how the rich people around Tp4 would think.

Robin Williams had suffered from a rare medical condition that caused depression as one of its effects.
It was diiagnosed first after his death.

A chef on Belgian TV has spread the lie that Scandinavians would eat their Christmas trees after Christmas.
Christmas trees could have get sprayed with pesticides, flame-retardants and plastics to make them last longer — all of which are toxic.

Scandinavians don't eat pines. Some high-end restaurants have used infusions of fresh, organic pine shoots to flavour dishes. That is all.

Tp4 did not know pine was generally edible. Although he was aware that cellulose filler in food is often saw dust.

TV has spread the lie

You guys just aren't as numb to it as people in the US.

I generally think of television as a place to go for entertainment, not information.

I believe in you dude! I spent my entire adult life smoking, drinking heavily, eating anything I wanted, and never working out. Only in the last year have I made a complete change, mostly to prove to myself I could actually stick to a routine(not to actually be healthy).

I guess  in that light, your point makes sense. If I'd spent my entire life working on being healthy I might want to see how the other side lives at middle age.
Not entirely sure how I'd feel if I had any semblance of success or wealth in my life.

The answer is to stop bored snacking/night eating and use the weight bench I have in my garage with the dumbells I have. I am planning 4 years of self care and diving into my keyboard projects. I spent this weekend doing my part 2 cleaning of some Alps SKCM Damped White switches. Cleaned just over 200 of them, have about ~40-50 lubed and reassembled. I also spent a bit more time in KiCAD finalizing an RP2040 schematic before I get into the layout.

NIH is alrite,  but in general,  these revolving door washington mechanisms will approve $10000 medical treatments, but drag their feet on obvious solutions such as prophylactics/ prevention.

NIH is the better of the bunch, but this is less about health, and more of a him and his cronies moment for Trump. Most of the research is worthless because anything worth anything gets privatized immediately, then either locked away, or $$$marked up.

Presented via Power Point - the new ’10 Commandments’ (as he called them) which went into effect immediately:

(1) No more Black History Month
(2) No more Women’s History Month
(3) No more Hispanic History Month
(4) No more LGBTQ recognition
(5) No more talk about “Transexuals” anywhere in the military workplace as "they do not exist anymore than leprechauns exist"
(6) Female personnel will participate in “female pursuits only” for sports teams on his military installation
(7) “Female pursuits” for female sports include only badminton, bowling, tennis and golf
(8) Female military personnel will no longer be allowed to participate on installation teams for rugby, basketball, flag football and mixed martial arts. They may run track but not participate in any field events
(9) No more “holiday parties” as all events will be designated only as “Christmas parties” during the end of the year season
(10) Bible studies in the workplace "are highly encouraged though no one will be forced to attend”

Billionaires exist, and I can't get approved for a $100 loan to buy a shipping label printer. $100 is too much of a risk apparently, for something I'd literally be using to generate more money selling things on eBay.
I used to get labels printed out at the library, but they changed their policy and refuse to plug in USBs you give them. I now have zero ways to print out labels for the things I am selling.
It really feels like the world does everything within it's power to hold me back, even the simplest tiniest easiest things are denied to me. $100??? Really? My credit is not even that bad, I just do not understand.

Anyone out there have a printer they want to unload? I am out of ideas.

Anyone out there have a printer

I print labels on plain paper and tape them to the boxes. Works fine, assuming that you have a conventional printer and wide clear tape.

Within the past year I bought a perfectly good Epson printer at a thrift store for under $10, and it did not even need new cartridges.

You know, Tp4 used to write letters, with pen and paper, and then lick the carcinogenic glue on the envelope AND the stamp. Cough.. then mailed it.

One would figure Noisyturtle could figure out a way to mail something without a label printer. We must keep faith.

My only option is to pay $4 a pop to have them print the label at the shipping store. It is so lame.
Add that to my free shipping + eBay fees + cost to travel to the UPS Store, I'm losing like 20-30% per sale. So incredibly lame.

Add that to my free shipping

I have been at it for over 2 decades and have sold over a thousand items on ebay. And I have experimented at length with different techniques and determined that providing free shipping is a mistake. This is not just a flight of personal fancy or preference.

No idea why, (and personally I GREATLY PREFER free shipping when I am a buyer) but it is a proven fact (by a lot more than just me) that the great majority of people go for "lowest price" rather than "lowest price including shipping"

Unless your items are small and high-value and/or fit in USPS "flat rate" packaging, just let your buyers pay for their own shipping (they do anyway, don't they?).

Ask if they have an email or something you can send it to or print from your phone. Could probably access your email or Ebay account or whatever from their computers to get the file.

Also, USPS will print labels as will most other shippers, just use Ebay's pricing and don't print it yourself, let the shipper do it when you go to ship it.

Why are children so irrational. My kid didn't want to wear a different jacket today. Their usual jacket was wet from sledding on Sunday. I spend 5+ minutes arguing with a child about why they cannot wear a wet jacket when it's below freezing.

If we let them wear it for the 3 minutes they get freezing cold and runs back inside to switch jackets.

You'll be late for skoo, but it's just a propaganda indoctrination machine, never learned anything important there. The freezing wet jacket lesson is probably the most important thing they'll learn all month vs garbage skool.

I'm glad your problem is solved 2 years later
(...)Whereas back then I wrote about the tyranny of the majority, today I'd combine that with the tyranny of the minorities. These days, you have to be careful of both. They both want to control you. The first group, by making you do the same thing over and over again. The second group is indicated by the letters I get from the Vassar girls who want me to put more women's lib in The Martian Chronicles, or from blacks who want more black people in Dandelion Wine.
I say to both bunches, Whether you're a majority or minority, bug off! To hell with anybody who wants to tell me what to write. Their society breaks down into subsections of minorities who then, in effect, burn books by banning them. All this political correctness that's rampant on campuses is b.s.

If I make a fist the middle finger on my right hand gets stuck  part of the way up then pops loose, maybe arthritis? Mouse wheel finger?

Turns out had to get a shot the tendon was irritated, but it's good now.
I'm glad your problem is solved 2 years later

Sounds about average for American healthcare

Stupidity at a mind-numbing level:

"This is so crazy - we voted for Trump. We trusted in the word that he promised, as Latinos.
This is crazy that starting next week, multiple cities will be hit by immigration.
It is so crazy that multiple people are scared to go to work. Where I work at, a lot of Latinos did not go to work and that’s crazy because we have a living, too.
I hate that I voted for him, now I am so scared for my family."

Is TP4 not an audiophile? Seemingly a good excuse to get a nice pair of headphones? I have had many Schiit products and none of them sucked.

Headphones no bueno with glasses. Mostly a speaker guy.

I hear IEMs are much more glasses friendly and have a wide market. Sorry, no real advice for near field speakers.

I have found that in 100% of cases where I've heard people say this it is due to the glasses frames they tend to wear. It's not the headphones, not your head shape, you just need more form factor glasses. I've 9 high-end over ear headphones and none of them interfere with any of my glasses, as I always wear wire or thin-framed glasses with flex.

and if you're wearing those thick black-rimmed plastic glasses, I'm sorry I cannot help you. You've made your choice in life. People who choose that frame are inherently adverse to changing their fashion or simply don't care, and will always pick the bulkiest cheapest most common black-rimmed frame.

Same here, I haven't had any plastic frames since I was in my late-20s. Wire frames FTW, and flex frames are well worth their obscene prices, and I routinely keep them for 10+ years, only replacing lenses.

The glasses which provide the highest image quality IS the cheapo budget frames.

Expensive frames with thin metal can't use heavy lenses, so they have to have thin lens, the thin lens are higher index, higher index causes significant chromatic aberration, color drifting/ rainbow effect at edges.

The cheapest, lowest index black frames not only reduces refraction from the black frame itself, but ALSO, has the best uniformity.

It's true high index lenses sacrifice some small amount of clarity at the very edges of the lenses, but I rarely navigate down the street using exclusively side eyes. Where the eye is centered is perfectly clear.
And on the plus side, my vision is not obstructed by giant black plastic bars. I'd argue you have much better field of view with wire/thin frames.
I only really notice it when I'm turning my head while still and my eyes shift quicker than my neck.
Never in my life noticed chromatic aberration or rainbowing, and I've been wearing index lenses for about 25 years. They used to use this plastic coating I hated, as it would wear off as you clean them over the years and create weird 'bubbles' where the coating deteriorated. Now I tell them not to coat my lenses and the ALWAYS fight me about it saying they protect them, but it is a total scam to get you to buy lenses more often.

is high index lens same as lens thinning process? I mean, I always get my glasses lens thinned - is that the same thing?

The lens thinning edge treatment is just cosmetic. Making thinner (lighter) lenses in general requires higher indexed (of refraction) polycarbonate.  This inherently creates more chromatic aberration, visual edge distortion.

If you want the best image quality, with the least fringing breakup, the cheapest lenses do that the best. The thick black frames also help to absorb the light when they bounce in at angles (not much, but in principle).

Quality side of things, can't beat contact lenses. Buhhhhh, alot of them are made in Japan, / Radiation. You stick that in your eye, could accelerate cataracts.

It's disgusting. There is a lot of rumors that other studios are pushing Rockstar to price GTA6 at $100USD. It's not going to lose money, it will generate BILLIONS. Piracy and voting with our wallets is the only solution. We already know the game won't release on PC because those with both will buy it twice. Nothing but a money grab.
