HAHAHA.... wow why are all the Geekhackians on the offensive..   when did we take ourselves this seriously..

Don't feel bad Speakeazy....   you've just come in on an unlucky day...

But.. do remember,   if you're going to be pawning hardware using sex appeal,  you either do it shamelessly, or you don't do it at all..

this in-between thing falls between the uncanny valley and is confusing for the audience, making them think...   that's the last thing you want your audience to do...

Nothing against -Joanne- or you,  I'm sure you're good people..

Haha, thanks for the support. Well, I think she's doing pretty good. Almost 7,000 subscribers in 2 months. I think for the general tech community, she does provide informative and entertaining content.

What do you think about her Realforce Topre keyboard overview? We covered the 104UB, the 87U All-45g, and the 87U Silent

I know you haven't been here long..   but... it's a general consensus that you do not ask TP4 about Topre...

Oh yikes! Well, that's good to know. Not one of his favorites, I suppose?

Not unless you ask him about an ErgoDox with Topre switches ;)
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

I would like to take this opportunity to shamelessly plug my german language Review of the Rapid-i.

It also has some pictures and a video.

Thanks all for your attention.    ;D

Great review! I'm glad you guys took the time to make a lengthier video that covered everything. NCIX made an unboxing video on a Topre keyboard but everyone was complaining about the price in the comments because they didn't take the time to talk about the build quality, keycaps etc. and no one really understood why this keyboard is so expensive.

First post, but not my first trip to the boards here.

I own about 22 different keyboards and about 40 difference mice.  I had been waiting for the QFR-i for a while.  I have 5 other CM keyboards and was looking forward to a tenkeyless keyboard from them with backlit keys.

The backlit is a nice addition and the obvious new feature, but the item that I didn't expect to change in their line-up and definitely didn't expect it to bother me as much as it has... the USB cable and plug-in location on the keyboard.

The normal location has been tucked away underneath the keyboard.  the new location is on the back of the lower assembly, right back corner centered beneath the 'scroll lock' key.
This wouldn't matter 'that much' if the cable that came with the keyboard had a 'straight' connector.  It doesn't.  It's a right angle connector that bends to the right.  In some scenarios, this cable can interfere with your mouse cable.  I would strongly recommend an aftermarket USB cable OR some nice cable mgmt.

If you are someone that uses any kind of keyboard tray or scenario such as a mobile cart, the way the new connector is situated may prevent you from using the device.  I really do with the connector was tucked away beneath, or at least centered on the back of the unit.

I did replace the keys with some nice white PBT keycaps.  The glow is brilliant (sorry no photos).  My only regret is that I haven't purchased buffer-rings yet.  I went with cherry mx brown switches for the workplace, and I tend to bottom them out.
