the problem with Taiwanese film is their lacking of real out site scene when it comes to comparing with Chinese one, I enjoy most adaptions of fantasy-acient Chinese novels (from Yin Jong), Taiwanese version was always goods since the beginning of the adapt trend but losing its pros through time, now hardly a Taiwanese newly made adaption can be on par with Chinese's one.
On the same topic, I just cant stand Korean drama on the TV, they flooded the network here with those piles of crap (sorry Korean pals, but I have to admit) of those very same old story over and over again for many years, then it turned into a trend that many SEA countries now do the same theme drama, the worst part is their performance in term of acting is no where to compare to the original Korean's and the same to the writer, editor,... Everytime I stay with my mom, she could watch those thing all day long, and I was forced to watch it (hear it, to be exact) all over and now I develop an allergy to vietnamese-speaking drama (or Idian, Idonesian, Malaysian,... sorry dude) on the TV
That said, Korean movies are quite good lately, they still have very good actor though
