My goal for this channel is to get more people to join our community, whether it be Geekhack, Reddit or Deskthority etc etc. That will hopefully lead to more affordable GBs, more people to buy/trade/sell, and who knows... the next Haata might still be out there typing on a rubberdome and he'll watch my channel one day and revolution will occur!! LOL.
1000 subscribers would be nice, but I do want people to watch. I've done a lot of research into keeping the YouTube giveaway relevant. I've read about people who give away random stuff such as an iPad or something, and get lots of subscribers who aren't even interested in their channel's content. All my giveaways starting with this one will be relevant to the deeper end of mechanical keyboards. By giving away keycaps, you'll at least need to know..
1. You can change keycaps...and how to do it
2. Verify you have MX type stems
3. Know you have a standard layout (locks out Corsair strafers and a few other popular gaming keyboards)
low barrier to entry, but as time progresses and I hopefully generate some income, I'll giveaway more cooler prizes such as SP/GMK/JTK stuff and maybe a few custom keyboard kits and artisans. I'm hoping as I get more popular I'll be able to partner with big names in the community in order to do this.
